"Along the Color Line" was a public affairs commentary series on issues and perspectives of African American people by Dr. Manning Marable. This nationally syndicated column (originally called From the Grassroots) which started in 1976, was featured in more than 320 publications and evolved to include radio broadcasts featured on radio stations in the United States and internationally.
File contains collection of audio cassettes featuring the Along the Color Line Radio commentary series dated between 1992 and 1995 while Marable was a Professor of History and Political Science and Director of the Institute of Research in African American Studies at Columbia University. Each cassette has multiple commentaries on different topics.

Included are:

Beginning of tape was re-used. Long versions of Los Angeles along the race/class fault line and 1/2 of the long version of Race and Violence were erased.
