Chief Librarian Advisory Selection Committee records

This sub-series consists of records and documentation pertaining to the deliberations of the committee which was established to advise the Vice-President Academic on the selection of a new Chief Librarian. The Committee was first struck in 1988 to advise the Vice-President Administration on the selection of a position which was then called Director, Learning Resources Centre. However, because the search for a Director was unsuccessful and because the Learning Resources Centre was disbanded and the Library was transferred to the Academic side, the Committee was reconstituted in 1990 under the Vice-President Academic to advise on the selection of a Chief Librarian. The sub-series consists of two files representing both searches and of a bound folder of documentation which was referred to mainly during the first search. A separate sub-series entry (RG 37.22) was made under the Vice-President Administration's Group to reflect the involvement of the first committee under the Vice-President Administration, although all of the records are physically arranged under the Vice-President Academic.
