File contains programs for the annual awards night held in April or May and features the presentation of undergraduate awards including the Emily Durst, Nancy C. Sprott, Children's Rights, Francis G. Hare, and School of Child and Youth Care awards.

School of Child and Youth Care newsletters

File contains digital copies of the School and Child and Youth Care newsletter and online blog. It was initially distributed 3 times per year and then 2 times per year. There are also 2 hard copies of the Summer/Fall 2009 newsletter. In April 2011 the newsletter was replaced by the blog to "make it easier for students, staff, faculty, and the community to communicate and share information."

An Exploration of Child Labour Through Visual Art

Three copies of the exhibition catalogue for "An exploration of Child Labour Through Visual Art". The exhibit was curated by Sabaht Anis and produced and disseminated by Dr. Kiaras Gharabaghi, the John C. Eaton Chair of Social Innovation and Director of the School of Child and Youth Care. The exhibit was held at Saba Art Gallery in Toronto in the September of 2019. Artists featured in the exhibition catalogue are:

Out from Under : Disability, History & Things to Remember - exhibition catalogue

Out from Under was curated by faculty members from Disability Studies with an exhibit displayed at Royal Ontario Museum (ROM, April - July 2008. Their work was supported by the RBC Foundation through the Ryerson-RBC Institute for Disabilities Studies Research and Education.

The curatorial team, Associate Professor Kathryn Church, Professor of Distinction Catherine Frazee, and Director Melanie Panitch, launched a new special topic seminar designed to uncover the hidden history of disability. Students were invited to identify an object representing a particular era or moment in Canadian disability history and explore its significance.

Vision Passion Action poster

"A new activist poster for the School of Disability Studies features "Passion" by artist Rebecca Beayni. The painting was part of a 2003 international exhibit, featuring the work of artists with disabilities. The poster's goal, writes School Director Melanie Panitch in 'Abilities' magazine, is to "advance our mission, through art, to reshape the disability narrative and build a social identity grounded in pride"" [FORUM, January/February, 2005]

Ryerson Community Park - Phase Two sign

File contains a sign with the inscription Ryerson Community Park - Phase Two. Information provided by the donor: “This plaque was removed from the east facade of the now demolished Thermofresh building (former carpenter’s shop...and whatever else it was previously). It was installed so that it could be viewed from the outdoor patio of Oakham House”.

File contains a "Space Use Proposal: Consolidation and Relocation of Institute Space".

Building floor plans

Floor plans are photocopied and reduced from original size. Includes: Interior Design Bldg.; Monetary Times Bldg.; Landscape Plans - RPI Community Park; Ryerson Bldgs, 1986 and 1990 (Revised Drwgs).

Proposed Ryerson and TV Ontario Facilities architectural rendering

This watercolour rendering was done by Architects Crang & Boake at the request of Ryerson President Brian Segal. The proposed facilities were to incorporate a Ryerson communications centre with a building for TV Ontario, on the site where the Rogers Communications Centre is located today. The rendering is not dated although it was probably drawn in the late 1980s.

The Centre for Communication proposal

A planning proposal, prepared by the Physical Resources department, for a Centre for Communication to be built on a former parking lot now housing the parking garage/bookstore facility. Although this particular Centre was never built, the proposed Rogers Communication Centre commenced construction, on a different site, in November 1989, with an expected opening date of September, 1991.

Ryerson Athletic Centre construction videocassette

A 60-minute colour video, with commentary, documenting the on-going construction of the athletics centre from July 1986 to August 1987. The Athletics Director, Bob Fullerton, appears in the new facility at approximately the 52:35 segment of the tape.

Space allocation plan

File contains the space allocation plans from 1982 for allocating existing space that would become available with the development of the Anthony Foster Building (for Interior Design) and the completion of the RISIS II installation.

Comprehensive development, and near term development plans

File consists of development plans for the University from 1969-1984. According to George Hume, Director of Campus Planning and Construction, comprehensive development plans stopped being required by the Provincial government in the late 1980s. However, a document entitled "5-year Capital Plan 1991/92 - 1995/96" and produced by the Department of Campus Planning and Construction in 1990, continued to provide similar planning information. Physical Resources departmental documentation file

File contains memoranda about fire drills, safety, W.H.M.I.S., parking, energy conservation, renovations, and other miscellaneous subject matter. Also included is a copy of a 1981 report from the Coroner's Jury regarding a deadly fire at the Inn on the Park Hotel in January 1981, supplied to the Safety Co-ordinator by the Chief of the North York Fire Department; the Safety Co-ordinator shared the report with executives and senior management.

History of the building for the School of Interior Design formerly called the Anthony Foster building

Research report prepared in 1985 by project co-ordinator George Kleiser documenting the architectural history of the renovated Anthony Foster Building occupied by Ryerson's School of Interior Design. An updated and final report `History of the Building for the School of Interior Design formerly called the Anthony Foster Building was prepared in 1987.
