A recommended student volunteer catering service for palliative care patients at St. Michael's Hospital Toronto

One copy of a report researched and created by Ryerson Hospitality student Paul Gauntley to create a student volunteer catering service for palliative care patients at St. Michael's Hospital. The report was submitted to Ryerson President Brian Segal for approval to create the program.
The program went into practice in October of 1986. Included in the file is a copy of a newspaper article talking about the program.

Tibacimowin: Gathering of Stories

One copy of "Tibacimowin: Gathering of Stories" with Judy Finlay and the Honourable Landon Pearson OC. The book was published by the Provincial Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Stories were gathered from Elders and community leaders from Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation, Sandy Lake First Nation, Mishkeegogamang Ojibway First Nation, Fort Severn First Nation (Washaho Cree Nation), Eabametoong First Nation, Nibinamik First Nation, and Weagamow First Nation (North Caribou Lake First Nation).

Ryerson Community Park signs

RG 8.24.01 A clay- tiled plaque, with metal frame, measuring 47cm x 97cm. Two of the tiles are broken and are in need of repair. The plaque, at one time bolted to wood posts, was located in the mini-park (parkette) at Gould/ Church/Dalhousie Sts., now the site of the Rogers Communication Centre.

RG 8.24.02 - A brass plaque measuring 75cm x 50cm with the inscription: Ryerson Community Park, Phase Two.............Information provided by the donor: “This plaque was removed from the east facade of the now demolished Thermofresh building (former carpenter’s shop...and whatever else it was previously). It was installed so that it could be viewed from the outdoor patio of Oakham House”.

Graduate Studies held a contest for the 2018-2019 school year. Graduate students were invited to answer the question "How is Ryerson graduate education helping you shape our future world in micropoem (15 words of less) format. Three winners and three honourable mentions were selected. All of the poems were published in this volume.

A Framework for Truth and Reconciliation - Yeates School of Graduate Studies

In 2018 Ryerson University released its report "Truth and Reconciliation at Ryerson University: Building a New Foundation for Generations to Come". In 2019, the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, in conjunction with the Office of Aboriginal Initiatives created a YSGS Indigenous Graduate Student Leadership Circle and held the "Rethinking Graduate Education Forum". The school committed to Indigenizing its practices "...

infusing Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into all of the structural layers of an institution. For YSGS this means our academic and administrative supports as well as our programs and policies. The goal of Indigenizing is to create safer spaces for Indigenous learners: a more inclusive environment that affirms Indigenous worldviews and ultimately enhances and enriches the educational and cultural experience of the entire community.
This framework provides context and guidelines for the Indigenization of the school's graduate programs.

Yeates School of Graduate Studies Dimensions report

Dimensions Pilot Program at Toronto Metropolitan University, one of 17 across the country, is a program aimed at enhancing equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of and endeavours related to scholarship, research and creativity (SRC), as well as addressing and eliminating systemic and structural barriers to engagement in research and scholarship.
The Yeates School report is graduate studies' response to the initiative, giving 6 recommendations aimed at supporting the recruitment, admittance, retention and success for students from equity deserving groups. The 6 recommendations are:
1) Consider adopting a more holistic approach to admissions review for graduate programs
2) Provide dedicated support and resources throughout the admissions process
3) Provide tailored support throughout the graduate school experience
4) Enhance mentorship opportunities and programming tailored to support students from equity-deserving groups
5) Create a welcoming and purposefully inclusive university graduate student community
6) Advocate for and actively engage in the establishment of an institutional EDIA strategy or framework to support and sustain equity-focused initiatives, across the university and within YSGS

Christopher Plummer Honorary Doctorate DVD

The item consists of an edited video of Christopher Plummer speaking during the Fall 2008 convocation ceremony. A copy of this DVD was gifted to Plummer during his Honorary Doctorate Ceremony.

This item consists of two DVD recordings of the tribute dinner to Claude Lajeunesse. One DVD is an edited 4 minute recording of the dinner with narration by RTA Instructor Dana Lee (this version was gifted to Claude Lajeunesse).

Consists of two data DVDs created showcase the partnerships between the Faculty of Engineering and architectural science and the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. One DVD has the PowerPoint presentation and videos (.wmv format) and one DVD has full resolution videos (.mov format) showing 11 examples of student research projects.

Contains one 16 mm reel of original reversal Kodak Ektachrome film stick. The film shows students students attending an outdoor convocation ceremony location in the Kerr Hall Quadrangle. It include shots of speakers at the podium, families around the water fountain, and seated students during the ceremony.
