Parks Association of Metropolitan Toronto

File contains records relating to park associations in Toronto, Ontario, and New York. It would appear Bascom St. John was involved with this cause in Toronto and wrote editorials.

Technical Education in Britain

File contains a copy of the white paper "Better Opportunities in Technical Education" presented to Parliament in the United Kingdom by the Minister of Education by command of Her Majesty in January of 1961.
The paper proposes the reorganization of the system of courses for technicians, craftsmen, and operatives in technical colleges in England and Wales.

Dominion-Provincial Technical Education

File contains information relating to Dominion-Provincial Technical training and education. Included in the file are: memos; part I of the report of the Advisory Council of the Metropolitan School Board regarding the East York Board of Educations application to renovate East York Collegiate as part of the Federal-Provincial Technical Assistance program; a report on an interview with Federal Minister of Labour Dr. G. V. Haythorne and his assistant G. G. Cushing, Feb. 27, 1964; and a survey of vocational education and training 1959-1960 by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics - Education Division - Vocational Education section.

Special Vocational Schools (New York and elsewhere)

File contains a newspaper article about the High School of Performing Arts in New York, New York, and a copy of the Educational Studies and Documents No. 36 "Technical and Vocational Education in the U. S. A" - a bibliographical survey prepared by the United States Office of Education.

File contains general correspondence and brochures for the Canadian Polytechnic Institute located at 1262 Don Mills Road, Don Mills, Ontario. The majority of its courses were Science related (Physics, Chemistry, Botany) but they did offer courses in English, History, and Engineering.
