OPSEU Breakfast/Staff Star Award

The 5th Annual OPSEU Staff Recognition and Development Conference.....Staff Star Award Appreciation Breakfast. November 15, 2002. The 2002 Winner was Ruth Andrews and the keynote address was given by Mary Ann Monas from Monas International.

RAC - Pam Ennis (Duathlete)

Pam Ennis trains for duathlons and triathlons at the RAC where she works as an aquatics fitness expert. A thirst for competition: diver turns world-class duathlete from Forum, Octover 26, 1998.

Gordon Cressy

From the Ryersonian (Nov. 24, 1999) - An old player at the game of fundraising. Gordon Cressy is Ryerson's "financial savior". Also included are photos of Gordon Cressy at work as the new Chief Development Officer.

Business Management - Link program

File contains two photographs taken at the Link program open house for Ryerson first year Business students. The Link program was a pilot program to equip 80 business students with laptops - helping to make them more adept at information skills. One of the photographs was published in the September 6, 1996 edition of the FORUM newsletter.

Ryerson Athletic Centre (RAC)

File contains photographs of the Ryerson Athletic Centre (RAC) located in the Kerr Hall Quad. Included are photographs of architectural renderings and the model; construction; empty interiors; and activities taking place in the RAC.

Audrey Cohn-Sandler reading room

File contains photographs taken of the Audrey Cohn-Sandler reading room that opened on November 19th on the 6th floor of the Learning Resources Centre. There are photographs of people in the reading room and photographs of the memorial plaque.

Student Centre plan unveiling

File contains photographs taken in October 1991 at the unveiling of the plans for the Student Centre on Gould Street. Included are photographs of the architectural model, an architectural rendering, and photographs from the unveiling. In the photographs are President Terry Grier, and two former RSU presidents Mark Lemieux and Janet Piper. Also included in the file is a line drawing of proposed building. Photograph published in the October 25, 1991 FORUM.

Student Residences - Pitman Hall and ILLC

File contains photographs of Pitman Hall - exterior, interior, and construction and the International Living/Learning Centre exterior. Also included in the file are drawings of the exterior, a floor plan, and a room sketch for Pitman Hall.

Sub-series contains photographs taken during Ryerson's annual convocation ceremonies. Sub-series has been divided into files by year.

Convocation, 1990

File contains photographs taken at the Spring convocation ceremonies on June 13, 14, and 15 and Fall Convocation on October 20. The photographs are of fellowship honourees. Included are photographs of June Callwood, who received a fellowship at the June 13 Applied Arts convocation ceremony in the morning; Douglas J. Cardinal, who received a fellowship at the June 13 Technology convocation ceremony in the afternoon; Rosemary Brown, who received a fellowship at the June 14 Arts and Community Services convocation ceremony; Roberta Bondar, who received a fellowship at the June 15 Business convocation ceremony; and David Crombie, who received his fellowship at the October 20 convocation ceremony. Also included are two photographs from the fall convocation of the procession and children from the Child care holding a sign.

File contains photographs taken at the Spring convocation ceremonies on June 16, 17, and 18. The photographs include fellowship honourees: Monique Frize and Rose Sheinin at the June 16 Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science ceremony; Margaret Norquay at the June 16 Faculty of Applied Arts ceremony; Jos Wintermans at the June 17 Faculty of Business ceremony; Marie Sanderson and Gordon Fairweather at the June 18 Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Community Services ceremony; Wilson Head and Glenda Simms at the June 18 Faculty of Community Services ceremony; and William Siegel and Janice Moyer at the June 17 Faculty of Business ceremony.
The other photographs include students receiving the first degrees under Ryerson's new university status - Ryerson Polytechnic University.

Convocation, 1995

File contains photographs taken at the Spring convocation ceremonies on June 21, 22, and 23. The photographs include fellowship honourees: Romeo Dalliere at the June 21 Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Community Services ceremony; and A. L. Flood and Nuala Beck at the June 23 Faculty of Business ceremony. Also in the file are many photographs of the graduands processions before the ceremonies and of graduates and medal winners in the Kerr Hall Quad afterwards.

File contains photographs taken at the Spring convocation ceremonies on June 16, 17, 19, and 20. The photographs include doctorate honourees: Judd Buchanan, doctor of laws at the June 17 Faculty of Business ceremony; Murray Enkin, doctor of laws at the June 20 Faculty of Community Services cermony; Linda Lundstrom, doctor of laws at the June 16 Faculty of Applied Arts morning ceremony; and Jacques Hebert, doctor of laws at the June 16 Faculty of Applied Arts afternoon ceremony. Also included in the file are a photograph of Jim Packham and his wife, medal winners, and the Midwifery class posing with Murray Enkin.

Nutrition, Consumer, and Family Studies (NCFS) students and alumni

File contains photographs published in the FORUM newsletter. Included are two photographs of NCFS student Sylvie Boulet, her husband Phillip Aubin and their son Sylvia; One photograph of NCFS graduate Lisa Braverman '91 and Claude Lajeunesse with her Bachelor of Applied science degree; and One photograph of NCFS student Charles Bruce-Thompson.

RTA Faculty and students

File contains photographs of Faculty and staff. The photographs are mostly composed of projects the faculty were involved in. Included in the file are photographs of Jon Keeble, RTA chair, and Ross McCreath, president of the Canadian Communications Foundation for the launch of the CCF website about the history of private broadcasting which Keeble was involved in creating; Professor Clive VanderBurgh with his "Kids TV Research" project; and Photographs from the launch of Ryerson's Spirit Radio station and the station co-ordinator Mark Banbury, an RTA graduate and instructor in the school. Also included in the file are 2 copies of a photograph of an Ryerson RTA student Melanie Green with Jay Leno - she interned on his show. This photograph was published in the 1996 edition of the Rambler magazine.
