Yonge-Dundas redevelopment announcement press conference

File contains photographs taken during the press conference announcing the redevelopement of the Yonge-Dundas north-east corner with the construction of the "Metropolis" complex. Included in the photographs are Toronto Mayor Barbara Hall, Toronto Councillor Kyle Rae, Ryerson President Claude Lajeunese, Yonge Street BIA chair Bob Sniderman, President and CEO of PenEquity Glenn Miller, AMC Theatres V.P Operations Canada Harry Peckham, and Yonge/Dundas Regeneration Program director Ron Soskolne. One of the photographs was published on the front page of the September 26, 1997 edition of the FORUM.

Yonge-Dundas Development

This file contains photographs, clippings and News Release regarding the Yonge - Dundas development. Toronto Mayor Barbara Hall and Ryerson University President Claude Lajeunesse announced an innovative agreement between the City and Ryerson that brings a $90 million redevelopment of Yonge-Dundas area.

Winter scenes

File contains various projects undertaken by staff photographers. Photographs are of the campus in the winter months. Four of the photographs were published in the FORUM in January and February of 1993 and March of 1994.

Wine bottles

Food Services catered a literary event for Tish Cohen Ryerson alumnus held in the Library on 10 April 2008 with the reception having taken place in the Archives. The two empty wine bottles were donated to the Archives at the end of the event by Food Services. The wine was produced by Strewn Inc., Niagara-On-The-Lake for Ryerson Alumni Relations, University Advancement.

Wendy Mesley - Atkinson lecture

File contains photographs taken at Journalism's Atkinson lecture. Guest lecturer was Ryerson Journalism graduate and CBC news personality Wendy Mesley. Lecture was entitled "Why I am a dinosaur". Picture from file featured in the May 2001 edition of the FORUM.

Wendy Cukier - Mayor's reception

Wendy Cukier and Heidi Rathjen joined by Mayor Barbara Hall for the launch of the Canadian Coalition for Gun Control. The reception took place at Oakham House on Oct. 2, 1996. A page from Forum (p.12), October 18, 1996, "Ryerson - Toronto reception honours all who supported gun control law".

Visitor - George Erasmus

George Erasmus held a lecture on "The truth or consequences : taking action on the Report of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples". The speech was co-sponsored by the Office of Employment and Educational Equity.

Videotape: Ryerson Honours David Crombie: Chancellor

A brief (7:40 minutes) retrospect of David Crombie's life and career at Ryerson, presented at a farewell reception, celebrating the end of Crombie's term as Ryerson's first Chancellor. Terry Grier, Al Wargo, Lynda Friendly and Claude Lajuenesse gave brief personal comments about the individual, David Crombie.

File contains 1 vhs copy of the November 25, 1998 Ryerson Alumni awards ceremony, and 3 promotional tapes of nominated alumni for the 2000 awards. Two of those tapes are for Joeffer Caoc, Fashion '93 and one was for Robert J. Sawyer, RTA '82.

Various CDs related to the Office of University Advancement

File contains various CDs related to the Office of University Advancement. Included are CDs containing photographs from the 2010 Gould Street Park Festival and photographs from the 2008 Press conference on the Government of Ontario investing in the Student Learning Centre. There is also a CD of the television coverage of when Peter Gilgan visited the athletic centre at the Gardens in 2011.

University projects

Sub-series contains photographic projects completed by the University's photographers. The photographs were ordered by different departments and were taken of special events, for brochures, etc. They have been organized alphabetically by department or office.

File contains photographs of 2 women. One is identified as a Ryerson student. Unsure for what report these images were taken.

University Information Fair: Ryerson Display

Ryerson's information booth at the University Information Fair held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre was assembled in sections: 7 colour photo panels, measuring 8' x 3' were shot and arranged to present a panoramic campus scene of the Victoria/Gould Sts. area. 2 black and white information panel/signs were also included.

University Advancement projects

Sub-series contains 225 files of photographs taken by the University photographers for various projects. The majority of the photographs were published in the FORUM newsletter.

University Advancement photographic assignments - digital

Series consists of two subseries. One contains annual photograph discs created by the University Photographer for the Ryerson Archives. The second contains an archive of CDs, DVDs, and zip drives used by University Advancement to store photographs taken by the University photographers.

Universal Studios lab ribbon cutting

File contains photographs taken at the ribbon cutting for the new Universal Studios Canada instructional demonstration facility in the Image Arts building. One photograph, featuring Ryerson President Claude Lajeunesse, Image Arts chair Brian Damude, Senior VP NBC Universal Canada Ron Suter, and President and CEO GE Canada Elyse Allan, was published in the May/June 2005 edition of the FORUM.

United Way Pancake Breakfast (Eggy)

United Way Pancake Breakfast on Tuesday October 28, 1997 raised $1281.Service was provided by VP Dennis Mock, Ryerson's United Way co-ordinator Marg Macmillan, Executive Director of University Advancement Bob Crow, Nicole and Claude Lajeunesse, VP Michael Dewson, and VP Linda Grayson. A picture of the group appeared in Forum November 10, 1997. A yellow flyer advertising the location and the menu, with Nicole and Claude's favorite items.

United Way Pancake Breakfast

Dennis Mock, Vice President Academic and Michael Deswson, Vice President Faculty Affairs, served breakfact at Ryerson's second annual pancake breakfast for the United Way on October 9, 1998. From "Forum, October 26, 1998".

United Kingdom Universities delegation

File contains photographs for the visit of a delegation of senior administrators from universities in England, Scotland, and Wales. Visit part of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and the delegation learned about Ryerson's marketing, communications, fundraising, and alumni relations practices. One of the photographs was published in the July/August 2005 edition of the FORUM.

Tri-mentoring awards and office sign unveiling

File contains photographs taken at a ceremony involving Ryerson's Tri-mentoring program. There are also photographs of a sign unveiling for the Tri-mentoring office. The programme has a date of March 22, 2002 but the folder is dated April 9, 2002 - leaving an unclear date as to when the photographs were taken. Also the known people in the photographs are not listed anywhere in the programme.

Transit strike

File contains 2 photographs of bicycles on campus because of the transit strike. One photograph shows the bikes locked to the Podium building 2nd floor railing. The other shows bikes locked to the railing in front of the Library building along Gould Street.

Toronto Star Centre opening reception

File contains photographs of the opening of the Toronto Star Centre in the Rogers Communication Centre. Classrooms 183, 185, 187 are named the Toronto Star rooms. Photographs are of reception and of the rooms with people using the computers.
