Faculty Meeting records

File contains the faculty meeting records from 1974 onwards of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute's Nursing department. It includes correspondence, meeting minutes, drafts, reports, summaries of planned activities and resource requirements, bachelors information, committee listings.

Management Committee records

File contains the Management Committee records. It includes meeting minutes, drafts and proposals, correspondence, evaluations, job descriptions, definitions of curriculum, and documents pertaining to the degree in nursing.

School Council records

File contains the School Council records. It includes listings of the departmental council standing committees, reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, proposed changes, policies and procedures, forms, drafts, education models, announcements, Nursing News publication, and regulations.

Occupational Health Nurses diploma course

File contains the records related to the Occupational Health Nurses diploma course. It includes correspondence, a brochure, meeting minutes, and a draft of "A Conceptual Framework for Occupational Health Nursing Developed for Speciality Certification".

Task Force on Medical Manpower (Macdonald Report)

File contains the "Report of the Task Force on Medical Manpower (Macdonald Task Force Report)", correspondence, responses to the report, statements, rosters, published articles, "Report of OCATH/COFM Committee for Alternatives to Residents for Patient Care", and "Report of Neonatal Sub-Committee of COFM/OCATH Committee on Alternatives to Residents for Neonatal Intensive Care".

Nursing degree proposal

File contains the records of the proposal for a nursing degree. It includes the proposal, a pamphlet, core objectives, correspondence, course descriptions, projections, curriculum vitaes, surveys and questionnaires.

Series consists of materials previously stored on the UM (unsorted materials) shelves in the Archives. They are believed to be files maintained by Gail Donner in her role as the chairman of the Nursing Department.

Layoff correspondence internal (faculty)

File contains correspondence and accompanying materials between the Ryerson Faculty Association, the Department of Nursing, the Dean of Community Services, and others regarding the redundancy of staff in the Department of Nursing.

Nursing Theory Congress "From Theory To Practice" conference materials

The Nursing Theory Conference in 1988 was the second one held. Congress was held as the Constellation Hotel and Conference Centre August 23-25, 1988 and was presented by the Ryerson School of Nursing.
File contains materials from the Nursing Theory Congress "From Theory to Practice" conference. Included are 2 programmes and one conference attendee folder.

Nursing Theory Congress "Theoretical Pluralism: Direction for a Practice Discipline" conference materials

The Nursing Theory Conference in 1986 was the inaugural one. Congress was held at the Constellation Hotel and Conference Centre August 19-22, 1986 and was presented by the Ryerson School of Nursing.

Transfer of nursing schools - Ryerson files

On September 1, 1973, the responsibility for the administration of all Diploma Nursing Programs with the Province of Ontario was transferred from the Ontario Ministry of Health to the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities. Diploma Nursing Programs formerly operated by hospitals and or by separately constituted boards were advised that these programs were to be transferred to the Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology and Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. Under this directive, Ryerson's Diploma Nursing Program was joined by the Schools formerly operated by the Hospital for Sick Children, Women's College Hospital and the Wellesley Hospital.These files contain government and hospital correspondence, news releases, staff notes, speeches, staff transfer and benefits documentation, tuition information, etc. pertaining to the transfer."Nursing Task Force" file from another accession has been incorporated into this collection. It should be noted that the Nursing STUDENT RECORDS of the three hospitals were turned over to Ryerson as part of the program transfer and are maintained by the Records and Registration department of the University's Registrariat. Please see F 946 for the Wellesley School of Nursing records donated to the Archives by the Wellesley School's Alumni association.

Psychiatric Nursing Advisory Committee records

The file consists of minutes of meetings, proposed course description, and correspondence related to the one-semester specialist post-diploma course, started in 1968 and the expansion to a two-semester programme in 1970. Both granted a certificate upon completion.

File contains school documentation files including reports, correspondence, personnel listings, reports, drafts, brochures, motions, proposals, course descriptions, teaching assignments, a student handbook, degree program books, invitations, and clippings.

Nursing Honour Society Induction Ceremony

File contains materials from the Ryerson School of Nursing Honour Society. Sigma Theta Tau International is the Nursing Honour Society. Included in the file is a VHS tape and programme from the inaugural ceremony, and programmes from the 1997 and 2000 ceremonies.
