Recordak Corporation, a subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Co. since 1928, was the first producer of microfilm systems. Recordak Ltd., a subsidiary of Recordak Corporation, was established in Canada in 1928.

Record pertaining to Kodak Heights construction, maintenance and use

Sub-sub-series consists of contracts, correspondents, technical drawings, and notes pertaining to the construction, maintenance, and use of Kodak Canada's facilities at Eglinton Avenue and Weston Road in Toronto, Ontario from 1913 to 1987. Having outgrown its facilities on King Street in Toronto, the company purchased the land at Eglinton Avenue and named it "Kodak Heights" in 1913, beginning construction in 1914. The site acted as the main manufacturing and distribution centre for Kodak Canada, serving this purpose until 2004, when manufacturing operations ceased and most of the site was demolished. Sub-sub-series includes records related to the construction of the original seven buildings of the facility, as well as records pertaining to the use of building #5 as military barracks during WWI and records related to the history of building #18, which was purchased from Moore Business Forms in 1981.

Item consists of four identical posters, two in French and two in English. The poster features black and white images of a letter from the president of Kodak Canada Inc. celebrating the success of their manufacturing and supply operations, a Kodacolor roll of film, and of six Kodak employees. Writing at the bottom of the poster describes the accomplishments of the Kodak team and thanks them for their great performance in 1992.

Hughy

Item consists of a black poster featuring a printed page written by a friend about a man named Hughy, and his hospital experiences adhered to the poster board. To the right of the page are adhered a photograph and a matching negative featuring an image of Hughy sitting in a three-wheeled vehicle. Beneath the photographic images is a short text stating that the images were made to resemble those made with a 1938 Kodak. Appears to be made for Kodak Museum display, to acompany one of the cameras, which was used to create the images on the poster.

Ceramic trays for processing photographic materials sizes 4 x 5 inches, there are two imprinted stamps on the side, "Canadian Kodak Co Ltd." and "4 x 5", the bottom of the trays are imprinted with "Made in Austria".

Emulsion kettle

Item is a 48 gallon copper kettle with a silver-plated liner. It was installed in building #3 of the Kodak Heights plant in 1915 for making photographic emulsion for black and white paper and was used until 1974. The kettle was used to make the first photographic emulsion produced in Canada and was referred to as the "making kettle".

Miscellaneous records of Kenneth Winter

File contains miscellaneous corporate documents compiled or produced by Kenneth Winter. Winter was the secretary of Kodak Canada from 1960 to 1976 and became president and general manager in 1976. The records were likely related to the task of the corporate historian, though it is unclear whether Winter ever officially fulfilled this role. Documents include correspondence with the Eastman Kodak historian, overviews of Canadian Kodak's corporate history, corporate memos, excerpts from by-laws, a Kodak Milestones promotional pamphlet, and others.
