Its primary function is to publish the best in contemporary English-language haiku and senryu, linked forms including sequences, renku, rengay, and haibun, essays and articles on these forms, and book reviews." -- Journal about page. The first publication of the journal was in 1978.
George Swede with Anita Krumins were the first Canadian editors of Frogpond. Although Ms. Krumins was officially an Assistant Editor, in every capacity she was the Associate Editor. Their first issue was Volume 31 : 2 in 2008, ending with Volume 35 : 1, 2012.
