Miscellaneous records of Kenneth Winter

File contains miscellaneous corporate documents compiled or produced by Kenneth Winter. Winter was the secretary of Kodak Canada from 1960 to 1976 and became president and general manager in 1976. The records were likely related to the task of the corporate historian, though it is unclear whether Winter ever officially fulfilled this role. Reproductions of employment contracts for John G. Palmer and Eben J. Quigley

File contains reproductions of 3 employee contracts. The first, originally dated August 9, 1899, details the employment contract between John G. Palmer and Eastman Kodak Company. John G. Palmer became the treasurer of Canadian Kodak Co., Ltd., in 1899 and the company's first president in 1918. The latter two contracts, originally dated October 13, 1917 and January 1, 1923, detail the employment contract made between photographic emulsion maker, Eben J. Quigley, and Eastman Kodak Company.

Process C-41 hot air balloon Calgary Winter Olympics balloon festival

File contains photographs of the Kodak hot air balloon at the Kodak Balloon Festival in Calgary Alberta, 1988. Caption with photograph reads: "Kodak Balloon Festival Calgary 88--One hundred and fifty brightly coloured hot air balloons from around the world will dot the Calgary skies from February 14-23 to heighten the festive atmosphere surrounding the Winter Olympics. Randle Taylor, a Kodak dealer from Toledo, Ohio, built the balloon to resemble a giant roll of Kodacolor VR-G film."

File contains images of Kodak products piled as Christmas presents, such as the Instamatic M4 and the complete Super 8 home movie outfit, beneath a 'Season's Greetings' picture with hand drawn signs that have slogans like 'open me first' or 'gift idea'. Kodak Heights and Kodak Brampton aerial views

File contains many duplicates of two views of Kodak Canada Inc. Brampton location that appear to be from the 1980s. Also, there are a number of views of Kodak Heights that appear to be from the 1960s. Additional prints feature views of the Kodak Processing Laboratory. One print, featuring a painted image by H.H. Angus & Associates Ltd. (engineers) and Allward & Gouinlock (architect) is housed with a caption that reads: Canadian Kodak's new processing laboratory will be the second major building at the company's new 200-acre property near Brampton, Ontario. A final print is a contact sheet featuring images of employees sitting around a computer monitor.

The publicaton succeeded and continued the numbering of Canadian Kodakery. File includes vol. 21, no. 1 (Oct. 1975) to vol. 30, no. 6 (Sept./Oct. 1984).

The full lineage of internal publications for Kodak Canada employees ran as follows: At Kodak Heights was succeeded by Kodak in 1936. In 1955, the name was changed to Canadian Kodakery. In 1975, the name was changed again to Kodak Canada News. In 1986, this publication was succeeded by In Focus; and in 1994, the name changed again to its final title, Kodakery Canada.

The publicaton succeeded the magazine Kodak. The newer publication included a larger format than its predecessor, as well as new features. Collection includes vol. 1, no. 1 (Sept. 1955) to vol. 20, no. 6 (Aug./Sept 1975).

The original name of the publication was Studio Light and the Aristo Eagle. The name was changed to Studio Light in February, 1910.

File contains press releases and press kits prepared by Kodak Canada's communications department and by external public relations firm, Fleishman Hillard, between 1982 and 2004. Kodak Canada's Communications department changed its name to Corporate Communications between 1982 and 1986, then changed it again to Corporate communications and Public Affairs in 1988. One caption included with a bull fighting image reads: "When a camera incorporates a motor drive as the new Kodak's 300MD does, it only seems right to explore the potential in a series of pictures."
