Administrative Documents

This sub-series contains documents covering the administration and management of the Department of English. This includes records relating to meeting minutes and department decisions, budgetary documents, proposals, job postings, and other notable events in the department's history. The majority of the documents cover the internal correspondence and memorandums sent throughout the department.

Albums

Series contains 24 photographic albums donated from Kodak Canada. Highlights include a series of 6 photograph albums documenting the construction of the first Kodak Heights buildings during the date range of 1913-1916 with indexes organizing the prints by building or site chronologically; these albums form a significant primary resource on industrial construction in the early 20th century.

Also included in the series are several family photograph albums spanning the range of 1920-1950 that portray recreational and family life in Southern Ontario as well as WWI subject matter; and a group of Kodak company albums documenting employee events, vacations, and social parties at Kodak.

Alumnae World War II scrapbook

Three ring bound scrapbook containing lists of packages sent overseas to Wellesley alumnae serving overseas, item lists for packages, correspondence from Nurses in Europe regarding the packages; and correspondence from the various charities that the Wellesley Alumnae were knitting for including the Navy Knitters.
Numbering of items reflects their order within the original scrapbook.

Annual Reports - Wellesley School of Nursing

Sub-series contains annual reports created by the Directors of the Wellesley School of Nursing. The majority of the reports are the ones sent to the Department of Health, and then the College of Nurses of Ontario to register the school. Included with some of these are the reports by the Department inspectors as a result of their visits to the Nursing School. The file also contains annual reports written for the Wellesley Hospital Board of Directors, and a variety of correspondence and questionnaires from other Nursing ruling bodies including the Canadian Nurses' Association and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.

Annuals, periodicals, and newspaper clippings

Sub-series contains periodicals and annuals, created between 1900 and 2008, previously held and donated by Kodak Canada Inc. as part of the Kodak Canada Corporate Archives and Heritage Collection. Most periodicals are published by Eastman Kodak Co. and its susidiaries, Canadian Kodak Co., Ltd., and Kodak Limited (U.K.). Many of the periodicals were published for internal use, serving communications and community-building purposes for Kodak employees. However, many periodicals in the sub-series were also published for amateur and professional photographers, dealers of Kodak products, chemical engineers, and others. Some periodicals within the sub-series were published by external publishers.

Anthony Wilkinson's files

Sub-series contains files collected by Anthony Wilkinson during his interim position at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. Anthony Wilkinson was the interim president of Ryerson from 1969-1970. His files consist mainly of reports and correspondence.

Contains 6027 b&w negatives from the Kodak Canada Corporate Archives spanning the history of the company from 1900-2005. Negatives are organized by prior arrangement when processed, which was loosely based on the Kodak Canada's organization of the files in their archives index. Files of negatives originating from the previous index associated with the collection have been kept together, with the individual file numbers and index titles referenced in the Notes field of each record.

Black and white prints

Contains ca. 7500 b&w prints from the Kodak Canada Corporate Archives spanning the history of the company from 1900-2005. Highlights include early images of the Kodak Heights facilities, including construction of the first buildings ca. 1915. These prints also correspond to the series of Kodak Heights Albums that document the development of the property. Other images document the various industrial activities related to the production of photographic materials, cameras and moving images at Kodak Canada. Oversize prints include reproductions of portraits of George Eastman as well as images of his life and various leisurely activities.

Prints are organized by the order created when processed in 2005. This arrangement was loosely based on the Kodak Canada's original organization of the files in their archives index. Files of prints organized by the Kodak Canada Archives Index associated with the collection have been kept together, with the individual file numbers and index titles referenced in the Notes field of each record.

Blueprints and Plans

Sub-series contains plans and blueprints of Kodak factories and facilities in Ontario including : early blueprints and schematics for the King Street plant, approval drawings and area plans for the Kodak Heights facility showing buildings 1, 3,5, and 8, and detailed blueprints relating to the construction of Kodak Brampton Paper Finishing Plant, Building #35. Subject terms have been used to indicate Kodak site locations in Ontario, specifically the King street, Brampton and Kodak Heights operations.

CVL 011 course materials

Sub-series contains course outlines, tests, exams, and instructor notes from the CVL 011 course taught by Professor Werner Barth. They have been divided by chapter, by unit, or by date.

Cameras

Sub-series illustrates the production history of the Kodak company's commercial camera production. The collection represents all major styles of medium and small format cameras produced by the company and consists of 171 plate and film cameras, including; box cameras, folding cameras, disposable cameras, range finder cameras, single-lens reflex cameras, twin-lens reflex cameras, ciné cameras, and digital cameras. The cameras are organized chronologically.

Ceremony records

The Alumni Achievement Awards program was inaugurated in 1998 on Ryerson Polytechnic University's 50th Anniversary. There were initially two categories - Alumni Award of Distinction and Outstanding Recent graduate. The Alumni Award of Distinction is given for professional achievement. The Outstanding Recent Graduate Award is given an alumnus who brought honour to Ryerson withing 10 years of graduation. The winners are gifted with a medal created with funding from the Board of Directors of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in honour of Mr. Sharpe's induction into the Business Hall of Fame in 1998. The award was re-named for Mr. Sharpe in 2002. In 2008 the Outstanding Alumni Volunteer Award was introduced, recognizing alumni who have provided outstanding volunteer assistance to the University. In 2013 the Outstanding International Alumni Award was introduced, recognizing the alumnus that has demonstrated exceptional accomplishment in their chosen profession, exceptional service in community affairs, and has contributed to the advancement of Ryerson University.
