The Wellesley & You was a Development Office newsletter. Contains newstories about various Hospital departments and fundraising to support them and Hospital research. Included in the file are:

File contains two copies each of the 25 February and 6 March editions of the newsletter. The newsletter contains information for staff about goings on at Wellesley. The 25 February edition was the first edition.

Blue plastic photograph album scrapbook created by Grace Farthing (nee Bolton). Scrapbook contains photographs, news clippings, invitations and other materials relating to The Alumnae Association, and the Hospital. Pages ten to fifteen, and page eighteen were blank.

Page 1 contained materials relating to the Wellesley Alumnae dinner in September 25th, 1978. Included are a toast to Grace (Bolton) Farthing, a photograph of the class of 1933 table at the dinner held at the Thornhill Golf and Country Club, a menu and itinerary for the event, and a card to Grace.

Page 2 contained newspaper and magazine clippings. The majority were about a variety of Alumnae organization activities, but also included are obituaries of Alumnae members, and a story about Wellesley employees - Dr. J. Allan Walters and Dorothy Arnot receiving Queen Elizabeth II silver jubilee medals.

Page 3 contains newspaper and magazine clippings. Topics include the annual luncheons, an obituary, a photograph of the 1975 graduating class in Ryerson Theatre, a photograph of Dorothy Arnot and Doraine Ross. Also on the page is a typewritten list of items sent in a package sent to Doraine Ross (class of 1960) in Zambia.

One page article about Toronto Doctor William Edward Gallie. Article written by Toronto Star writer Donald Jones as part of his "Historical Toronto" column.

Newspaper clipping about the opening of the new nursing residence and the graduation of Wellesley Nurses. The majority of the page is taken up with the Alumnae Charity convenor's reports, and one notice about the 1962 graduates garden party at Casa Loma.

News clippings about the 50th anniversary of the Hospital, Graduation, and a newspaper photograph of Elsie K. Jones with 2 nurses Judy Scott and Susan Mason celebrating Elsie K. Jones 25th anniversary as Director of Nursing. Also on the page was a 50th anniversary napkin.

News story about Dr. Herbert A. Bruce after his death in 1963. There is also a news clipping about Angela Bruce's $125, 000 donation to the Wellesley Hospital for research.

Files contain photographs, majority of which are black and white and posed, of Wellesley Hospital staff including doctors, nurses, and other staff members. They are taken in a various locations around the hospital including wards, labs, and offices.

File contains photographs of staff education. The photographs are taken in classroom settings, on the ward, in the library, and in offices.

File contains photographs related to Nurses' Week and Wellesley Hospital. The majority of the photographs relate to Nurses' Week 1984 held May 1 - 7. There is a photograph of an informational display about nurses and 3 photographs of drawings submitted to the poster contest sponsored by the Ontario Nurses Association for children of Wellesley staff. The photographs of the contest winners were published in the July 1984 edition of Lion's Tale staff newsletter.
The other two photographs are of a drawing from the 1985 Nurses' Week poster contest; and a photograph of a Nurse modelling in the fashion show that was part of the 1986 Nurses' Week events (Published in the August 1986 edition of Lion's Tale).

Dr. Herbert Bruce's funeral held June 25, 1963 at St. Paul's Anglican Church on Bloor Street. Photograph shows nursing staff members walking up the stairs of the church.

Photographs taken between March and October 1964 of the demolition of the original Wellesley Hospital building and the construction of the new 9 story medical and research centre. One of the photographs shows nurses removing a painting and other items from the old hospital prior to demolition.

Contemporary negative of a photograph originally taken at the unofficial opening of the Wellesley Hospital in 1911. In the photograph is Wellesley Hospital founder Dr. Herbert Bruce, Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier, and Sir William Mulock.

File contains photographs of various areas in the hospital, and a variety of equipment. Also in the photographs are staff working in the areas and using the equipment. Areas include the Emergency room, the cafeteria, a lab, physiotherapy, and the nursery.

File contains brochures about programs and treatment. Included are brochures about post-natal exercise, Options for Seniors Inc., Burns and Emergency First Aid, and the Lupus Databank Research Program.

The Wellesley Hospital Medical and Research Centre began construction in 1964, with the demolition of the original Hospital Building "Homewood". The cornerstone laying ceremony was held Wednesday May 19, 1965. The building was officially opened October 10, 1967.

File of correspondence between The Wellesley Hospital's Executive Director G. E. Thornton and Ontario's Minister of Health A. B. R. Lawrence, and between A. B. R. Lawrence and Donald MacIntyre, president of the Ontario Council of Administrators of Teaching Hospitals.

Copy of a letter from W. P. Scott, Chairman of The Wellesley Hospital's School of Nursing Committee, to Mr. J. McNie, Minister of Colleges and Universities.

A photocopy of Bill 102 - an act respecting the Toronto General Hospital and The Wellesley Hospital. The act separated the two hospitals (which had amalgamated in 1948), leaving The Wellesley an independent institution once again. The first reading of the bill was March 11, the second March 21, and the final March 24.

File contains stationary and cards related to The Wellesley Hospital. Included are two greeting cards with images of The original Wellesley Hospital building on the front cover, one memorandum pad, and one document holder with "The Wellesley Hospital" on the front.

File contains a photograph of an architectural rendering of George William Allan's home which would later be the first Wellesley Hospital.

Cassette tape of Dorothy Eden reading two of her speeches given in 1973. The first is a speech given during a celebration of her career at The Wellesley on August 1, 1973. The second speech was originally given August 8, 1973 at the School's graduation exercises. It is unclear as to when the tape was recorded.

Green bordered ceramic tile that is sectioned into 4 quarters. Each smaller square has a different plant or flower on it - shamrock, thistle, rose, and a leaves. Tile is supposed to represent flora of the British Isles - shamrock = Irelend; Rose = England; thistle = Scotland; and the leaves.
Tiles were used around the fireplaces in the original hospital rooms in Wellesley's "Homewood" building. This tile was been placed in a finished wood box of sorts with green felt backing.

"Admiral" Nickel Silver Portable Blood Samples Case manufactured by Becton Dickinson Co. Metal case contains glass syringe, 2 needles, 5 glass vials with cork stoppers, and a tube for sharps attached to case. A red felt carrier with black stitching on edges and "BD" on snap closure was with case.

Franz Bergmann haemometer used to determine blood cell count using a mix of blood and hydrochloric acid.

Wood handled brick and block cement trowel. Trowel used by Ontario Premier John Robarts during the 1965 cornerstone laying for what would be named "The Turner Wing" of The Wellesley Hospital. The Turner wing opened in 1967.
