Voluntarism - Pre Conference Reports

Papers were circulated to conference delegates to prepare them for the concurrent working sessions at the conference. File contains a copy of the agreement between Ryerson's Board of Governors and the Ontario Department of Colleges and Universities to do research study "to determine the effects of the proctorial method on learning in extension courses" and a copy of the research study proposal.

Blank forms, certificates and stationery

File contains blank certificates of completion from the Business division of MDI for "Women - Training Toward Management Responsibility"; "Training Toward Management Responsibility"; "Workshop for College Administrators"; "Marketing for Hospitality"; and "Venture Capital". Also included is a blank grades report, a generic note from MDI, blank business division application forms, blank general application forms, and blank form letters notifying students of registration.

Real Estate Educational Program

File contains calendars, brochures and related materials for the Real Estate Educational Program run through the Managment Development Institute. Program run with the Ontario Real Estate Association and in co-operation with the Real Estate Institute of Canada. After dissolution of MDI, the program continued to run through the Continuing Education division.

Fellow's Program in Banking

File contains calendars, brochures and related materials for the Fellows' Program in Banking offered by the Management Development Institute and the Institute of Canadian Bankers. After the dissolution of MDI, the program continued under the Continuing Education division.

Continuing Education M.D.I. enrollment mix 1981/82

File contains a legal sized paper with enrollment information for the Management Development Institute for the 1982-1983 school year. Numbers are broken down by credit and non-credit courses. For credit courses, the numbers are further broken down by Fellows' program in banking and other courses. For non-credit courses the numbers are broken down by Fellows' program in banking, Real Estate educational program, and others.

Tourism seminars

File contain a copy of the proceedings from the Tourism '73 seminar held November 1972 at the Ontario Science Centre. The seminar was presented by the Management Development Institute. Also in the folder is a copy and Tourism '75 - A Time for Dialogue seminar held March 26-27, 1975. It was presented by the Management Development Institute and the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management degree program.

Egerton Ryerson Day

File contains materials concerning the event held to celebrate Egerton Ryerson's birthday on March 24, 1992. Included are tickets, brochures, walking tour script, and a schedule of events. Event was co-ordinated by Cara Scott, of Oakham House, and Pam Hitchcock, of Senior Studies'.

Shirley Shipman Memorial Lecture Announcements

The Shirley Shipman Memorial Lectures began in 2006 after the Shipman family established a fund in her memory to support an annual lecture series on topics of social justice and life long learning. Shirley Shipman was a founding member of the LIFE Institute and the co-chairperson of the curriculum committee.

"Coming to Life" documentary

File contains 2 copies of a documentary created by the LIFE Institute in conjunction with the Programs for the 50+ at the Raymond G. Change School of Continuing Education and the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors program. The documentary tells eleven stories of people who are involved with the LIFE Institute and Programs for the 50+. Included in the documentary are stories about Geoff Arnold, Sharon Hampson, Dorothy Knight, Joan Lee, John Simke, Josephine Spencer, John Twomey, Kitty Wintrob, Charles Wright, and Marilyn Wright.
