This series includes all of the graphic material in the Robert Hackborn Fonds. Most notably, this series contains a large volume of ~3000 oversized architectural and floor-plan drawings revealing much about the process of television production during the period represented in this collection. Many of these drawings have been further annotated by Mr. Hackborn during the course of his television production work. The records in this series have been arranged based on how they were ordered and stored by Mr. Hackborn, except in cases where an item's size or condition necessitated an alternate storage location.

Illustration Board drawings

Consists of watercolour illustrations of dresses and apparel used for the production of the Jackie Ray Show. Some illustrations have small textile sample pinned on. Also includes two scripts for the show.

Consist of two copies of sheets of textural drawings titled Director's Training. It is designed by R. Hackborn with Assistant D. Richter. The location on the drawings say Ryerson Studio B.

Storyboard drawings, set designs

Consists of photographs and hand drawings on tracing paper mounted on boards. The tracing paper can be placed over the photograph to demonstrate an action or type of shot. (pans, tilts, etc.) Also includes a water colour painting of the Easter Seal Superthon set.

Set Design for various productions

Consists of various illustrations, including watercolour and acrylic paintings on board, as well pencil on paper drawings, depicting set designs. Includes a sketch of a winter city scene used for a glass matte, a toy shop interior and watercolour theatre with a window cutout, and paintings of toys and circus acts.

Fraggle Rock Crystal Cavern matte shot

Item is a painting used in season 2, episode 5 of the Fraggle Rock series (“Uncle Matt Comes Home”). It was the backdrop for the Crystal Cavern, a beautiful, legendary place discovered by the character Wembley.

Matte shots are special effects used in filmmaking to combine two parts of a scene or shot (in this case the Fraggles and the backdrop). The blue area in the painting acts as a mask, and the characters would be superimposed, appearing to enter the cave.
