Lenin: documenty, fakty, vospominaniya = Lenin: documents, facts, recollections [moving image]

The film is constructed as a montage of documentary photographs and film clips, taken during and after V. I. Lenin's life. There is footage of the memorable places where Lenin lived and worked, as well as significant places associated with Lenin after his death, including the Mausoleum and archives of the Marxism-Leninism University. The film includes personal accounts of people close to Lenin, including Anatoly Vasilyevich Lunacharsky, Maxim Gorki, Gleb Krijanovski, sculptor Aronson, Mayakovski, John Reed, Sergey Esenin, Nadezda Krupskaya, Bertram Russell and more recollections of Lenin's colleagues. The film also briefly displays footage of Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw's visit to the USSR in the 1930s. The Brest-Litovsk agreement and the Civil War situation in Russia are mentioned. The film concludes with praise of Lenin's importance to every person in the vast Soviet Union.

Large poster enveloped in plastic wrap with foam core backing and one loosely rolled poster shows image of Vladimir Illyich Lenin looking stern with red background, and white writing. Hook to hang poster on verso. The title of this poster is a quote attributed to Lenin. In smaller text it reads, "For us, as never before, more light isneeded, so that the party and people know all, so that we won't have dark corners, where would again start up the mold, all of that with which we are now led a decisive struggle and are far from completion. Therefore - more light!" This quote is indicated to be from materials from the Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union dated January 1987. The poster was produced in Moscow. The editors were M. Nedkova and I. Pechkin and the artistic editor was Yu. Leonov.

It was produced in Moscow. The artists responsible were V. Trubanov and S. Bondar. There is some small text written in Ukrainian as well.

Hit miniature camera

Item is a "Hit" type novelty subminiature camera for 14 x 14 mm exposures on 17.5 mm paper-backed rollfilm. This style of camera was named for the original Hit camera design that inspired many similar cameras. This design is a chrome and black leatherette construction. Hit cameras were first produced in post WWII Japan, and were sold for about $0.50 each. Miniature accessories, such as filters, lens hoods and leather carrying cases, were also available. It is not known if this camera is related to the Crystar company.

Item is a sub-miniature camera with an Arokkor f3.5/25 lens and a fixes 1.110 shutter.

Minolta 16 MG-S

Item is a subminiature camera, similar to the Minolta 16 MG, manufactured between 1966 and 1971. The images produced by 16 MG-S are a substantial improvement over the 16 MG. By using single perforated film format, the negative size was increased from 10x14mm to 12x17mm thus producing an image almost 50% larger. Composed of 4 elements in 3 groups the 23mm (f2.8-16) lens had a fixed-focus set at about 13 feet. Shutter speeds ranged from 1/30 to 1/500.

Hanimex 110 LF tele

Item is marked with the Hanimex brand, though the camera was manufactured by the Vivitar Corporation. It is a 110 format camera with a built-in flash powered by two AA batteries. It has a fixed focus. The photographer can select either a normal or telephoto lens, by using a slide switch on top of the camera.

Minolta - 16 EE

Item is a subminiature camera with Rokkor F2.8/25mm lens, which used 9mm proprietary cassette film. This model of the Minolta 16 line features a selenium light meter and shutter-priority automatic exposure.

Yashica Atoron

Item consists of a Yashica Atoron, a subminiature camera with a smooth finish. It uses 8 x 11 mm on 9.5 mm film (Minox cassettes). This camera has a Yashinon f2.8/18mm fixed focus lens with an aperture scale from f2.8 to 16. The shutter has speeds of 45-250, B. There is also a Selenium meter and built-in UV filter. It is also known as the "Revue Mini-star."

Asahi Pentax 6 x 7

Item is a professional medium format single lens reflex camera for 6 x 7 cm images on 120 or 220 roll film. This camera has a design similar to a 35mm camera with interchangeable Takumar lenses and range finders. It has a Penta Prism viewfinder, a wooden handle and a Takumar 6 x 7 1 :3.5 55 mm wide angle lens.

Mamiya C3 Professional

Item is a medium format twin lens reflex camera for 6 x 6 cm exposures on 120 roll film. Marketed as a professional camera, lenses are interchangeable (both the upper and lower lenses are removed together) without exposing the film. Extra lens included (Mamiya-Secor f4.5, 65 - 135 mm with a Seikosha - S shutter 1 - 1/500 sec.)

Item is a typical medium format twin lens reflex camera, designed to resemble a Rolleiflex. The "LM", for light meter, indicates that this model has a selenium cell exposure meter on top, with meter control on left side. Shutter: Copal MX. 80mm f3.5 Yashicor Lens.

Fully automatic, Film speed, distance and exposure are set with no override settings. A small LCD Screen on top shows self-timer, battery status, film indicator and frame counter.

Pentax K1000

Item is a single-lens reflex 35mm camera with interchagneable lenses. The camera is a fully mechanical, manual camera without program modes. It is often considered the archetypal "student's camera" due to its simplicity of functions and robust design. The K1000 was equipped with a TTL metering system, wide-ranging shutter speeds from 1/1000 to 1 s, and the ability to use all the available K-mount lenses made by Pentax.

Located on the camera's top panel the shutter speed dial offers speeds from 4 sec to 1/1000 sec. Flash sync for electronic flash at all speeds up to 1/125 sec and for FP, M and MF type flashbulbs at all speeds from B to 1/1000 sec. The camera allows for film speeds from ASA 25-1600. The has a TTL center weighted metering with manual exposure control. The Nikkormat EL was produced in white/black chrome versions.

Item is a 35mm rangefinder camera with M39 screw mount interchangeable lens manufactured by KMZ plant in Krasnogorsk, Moscov, USSR, between 1948-56. It is a copy of the Leica II. The lens is a Industar-22 (3.5/50mm) (#6080561). The shutter speeds range from 1/20 to 1/500 with a B setting. In Type 1d, the black trim is visible below the top plate and above the bottom plate and extends to envelop the lens mount.

Item is an Olympus OM-2 N 35mm SLR camera. Chrome model. It is based on the OM-2 model, which is the automatic version of the OM-1.
Item has an Olympus OM-system Zuiko MC Auto-w 1:28 f=28mm lens. Lenses are interchangeable between all OM models.
Item features an electronic shutter, and offers automatic or manual exposure. Uses off-the-film metering and through-the-lens flash automation and was the first camera to have these features. Also has a direct contact inside for Recordata backs, an exposure compensation warning flag and full-frame averaging at all shutter speeds.

Originally 12 posters, missing 3. Two smaller posters have been placed inside the front cover. Recto quote, attributed to V. I. Lenin, reads, "Party... we believe, in it we see the mind, honour and conscience of our epoch.." The author was S. V. Kolesnikov, the artist was S. B. Raev, the editors were A. N. Kozlov and L. V. Yakhnevich and the technical editor was E. G. Kochetova. It was produced in Moscow.

Set of twelve small posters in a book format, depicting the political life of Lenin. Recto reads, "Lenin: Posters, portraits, leaflets 1917-1914 from the Lenin State Library of the USSR." The author was N. Baburina, the designer was B. Fedyushkin, the editors were I. Sazhneva and Yu. Leonov and the technical editor was T. Onosovskaya. It was produced in Moscow.

Statue of Lenin, seated and holding a rolled paper

Small statue, composed of a metal alloy, shows the figure of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin seated on what appears to be a tree stump. He holds a rolled paper in his left hand. A piece of paper, probably the manufacturer's stamp, is adhered to the bottom of one of the statues. The second statue has glue residue in the same location, indicating a similar paper was adhered but removed. The cast was created in 1986. It cost 17 rubles.

Front section of Soviet Russian newspaper containing 6 pages of text and halftone images. Identified as issue no. 313 (21282). Newspaper title is flanked by crests of Lenin and a military star type crest. The images include that of a press conference at Lenin's mausoleum, a large protest or march with crowd members holding banners depicting Lenin, military excercizes and parades, and entertainer playing the accordion. On the front page, the main story's title reads: Under the banner of Lenin - dear October! Reporting about the parade and demonstration of workers on Red Square. The title of the story below it reads: Holiday reception at the Kremlin's Palace of Congresses. The last story is titled: A Speech by Comrade L. I. Brezhnev. It is on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the October Revolution. On page 2, the main story from the front page is continued. Pictures of the parade depict soldiers marching and war technology. The story on the right-hand side is about the parade march to the palace. On page 3, the title reads: Unity, Brotherhood, Cohesion: Holiday Celebrations in the Capitals of Union Republics. The cities featured are Kyiv (Kiev), Minsk, Tashkent, Alma-Ata, Tbilisi, Baku, Vilnius, Chisinau (Kishinev), Riga, Frunze, Dushanbe, Yerevan, Ashgabat and Tallinn. On the top left of page 4, the title reads: We talk about the new winners: Calling the foremost example. The story below it is titled: Domestic-talent and skill. The bottom left-hand story is titled: Bridges for Baikal-Amur Mainline, and a picture of foreign parade-goers in Moscow is to its right. The story on the right-hand side is titled: Congratulating Countries of the Union. Page 5 includes various international news stories and a political cartoon about the October Revolution and negative international sentiments toward the USSR. The last page includes article titles including Conviction, News: Holiday Mosaic, Sport, From the Poetry Notebook, Inquiries. Publisher and publishing information is also included at the bottom of the page. At the top of the page, there are two pictures: two young people preparing to celebrate the October Revolution are in one picture and the other shows a sporting event at a stadium.

Singapore album

Malta, Italy, China album

Green fabric-coated album with some decorative linear gold embossing. Spine torn along edges. First and last page have a decorative leaf pattern. Notations are handwritten in black ink. Photographs are mounted in between two layers, seemingly embedded into album's pages.
Photographs are of a family traveling through Malta, Italy, Portugal and China, taken at sites such as Pompei, Mount Vesuvius, the Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace, as well as some photographs of the railway through a mountainous countryside.
Some photographs include images of the crew and family aboard the S.S. Somali, a British passenger and cargo steam ship that travelled between England and Hong Kong, stopping at locations such as Italy and India to drop off or pick up cargo. The ship was built in 1930 and was destroyed by a bomb while being towed on March 27, 1941. The shipwreck still remains upright off the coast of the United Kingdom, on the East side of Glasgow off the shore of North Sunderland.

Assuming dates of album are between 1930-1941, based on S.S. Somali's active days, King of Italy pictured would be King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy and his Queen, Elena of Montenegro.
