RCAF WWII album

Blue cover with gold embossed letters- "Scrap Book." Bound with black string. White pages, photographs mounted photo corners or glue. Notation in black ink. Photographs are snapshots of people in front of buildings, street scenes, houses, streetcars, a transmitter station, soldiers, air force, Bolton Abbey, Bernard Castle, and other sites.
Other materials include a postcard of Robbins Drug Store in New Brunswick, five telegrams from Allan Jackson, four newspaper articles about wireless operators, three articles about women entering the Royal Canadian Air Force, a booklet from Westminster Abbey entitled "Westminster Memories," and eleven small souvenir picture cards featuring different interiors, a brochure called "What's on and Where to Go in Glasgow," a pamphlet about the Castle of Edinburgh, a letter from Allan Jackson to his wife Mrs. G.A. Jackson in Montreal, a map of London, a London Underground map, two London transport day tickets, and several pamphlets from various sites in London.

Brown leather cover embossed with black and gold designs. Spine also embossed with stripes and lettering- "Album." Simple metal clasp. Front leaf and title page included. White pages with window opening and gold border. Brown fabric binding.

Item is a grey coloured cabinet card with silver embossing. Photograph of two young men in front of a studio backdrop showing a classical arch and palm fronds, affixed to a grey card. Man on left is seated, wearing a suit and bow tie. Man on right wears a sailor style suit, and appears again in 2005.001.102. Embossed on bottom edge of card, in silver, "The Royal Photo Co./ 12 Shacklewell Lane/ Kingsland, N.E." On verso, at top left in pencil, "3-". Kingsland N.E. was the name of a village that has now been adopted by the Dalston Junction in the Borough of Hackney, London, U.K.

Item is a cabinet card of a man and woman leaning over infant. Text below photograph reads, 'T.R.H. The Duke & Duchess of York & Infant Prince. Gunn & Stuart Photographers to H.M. The Queen. Richmond, Surrey.' Inscription on verso reads, '7 [ill.] LONDON AUGUST 14th 1894.

Item is a cabinet card portrait of baby. Brown text below photograph reads, 'Copyright Barraud 263 Oxford St London A few doors West of The Circus'. Brown text on back of card reads, 'Mr. Barraud 263, Oxford St. W (regent circus) London. Mr. Barraud bestows particular attention on enlargements, miniatures and reproductions which can be made from any photograph. All negatives registered and carefully preserved. Mr. Barraud's studios are approached by a lift constructed on the most approved patents which will be found a great advantage to sitters as no stairs have to be ascended, childrens portraits the same prices as other sitters.' Inscription in ink on back of card reads, Willi a Kiss, from Phyllis Margaret Dickson'.

Item is a cream coloured card with gold border and a portrait of a child in tartan dress seated on a rocking horse and holding a whip. At the base of the horse, a hat with feathers is sitting on the floor. On verso, handwritten in pencil, "Wemyss Chisholm" followed by the text in pen, "1864-1954". At the centre of the card, a photographers stamp in brown ink, "J. H. GRIFFITHS,/ PHOTOGRAPHER,/ London, C. W./ Copies may be had."

Managed by William Hebb until 1876, when Oliver M. Hill took over the position.grey card which fades from light to dark from left to right, with round portrait of a woman with a ruffle-collared dress. At bottom right, embossed in white on a diagonal, "F. W. Wood Ltd. 347 & 349 EDGEWARE RD. ,W./ 8, 22 BISHOPS RD., W." On verso, handwritten in pencil, "112330".

Item consists of a colour photograph of a young woman and older man in front of the Palace of Westminster (or Houses of Parliament) in London, UK. The young woman is wearing a blue dress and is sitting, while an older man dressed in a suit with a red tie stands beside her. They are both looking at the camera. In the midground there are cars driving by and in the background the Palace of Westminster is visible. On the back of the photograph is typed "Nuse Jill and Dad. Photo by Win, London, 1972." The image is surrounded by a 0.5 cm white border and is printed on Kodak Paper.

Lambert and Fellows album

File consists of an album with the words "scrapbook" written on the front in red and blue letters. On the cover there is a picture of a boy sitting at a desk with a crown counting coins. In the room around him are pictures of a knight fighting an ogre; a picture of two hunters, and a fireplace with a clock on the mantle beside a mounted horse figurine, some books. and a calendar. The pages are plain off-white in colour and have articles and photographs glued in, along with many loose clippings and photos spread throughout.
Scrapbook contains images and newspaper articles about the Lambert and Fellows families, including wedding and death announcements.

Accompanying loose materials include: postcards, photoengravure reproduction, pen and ink drawing, photographs - mounted and unmounted, newspaper articles.

Dates on pages and accompanying loose materials include: 1885, 1889, 1894, 1904, 1907, 1908, 1911, 1918.

Studios include: The Cavendish Studio, Speaight, Cantuar Photo Co., Whiteley, Meisenbach.

Item is a cream coloured cabinet card with photograph of a woman with large hoop skirt seated, and a man in suit and waistcoat standing behind her, both in front of a backdrop depicting a balustrade and lake with a column and trees on the right. The column has the text "J. COOPER LONDON C.W." inscribed on it. On verso, in black letterpress, a decorative floral frame with the text "J. COOPER,/ Photographer,/ Londong, C.W." and at the bottom, "Copies of this Picture can be had at any time."

On verso, handwritten in ink, "Jack Fellows Laubert(?)/ age 17 years." Mount slides inside a glassine tissue envelope with the same Harrods logo at top left.

Photograph is a portrait of a young woman in plain white blouse with her short hair curled forward on either side of her face, and a section pulled up and rolled back on top - a very popular style for the 40s. On verso, "Further copies may always be obtained/ from our local Studio by quoting index/ letter and Negative Number." Handwritten in pencil, "PA61.99.8" and again in letterpress, "OR FROM/ REGENT PORTRAITS Ltd.,/ 30/31 GREAT SUTTON ST.,/ LONDON, E.C. 1."

On verso of card, decorative gold stamp with floral motif and the photographer's name and address repeated, with the additional information: "Alexandra Studios" and "NEGATIVES KEPT EXTRA COPIES CAN ALWAYS/ BE HAD BY SENDING NAME."
