Item consists of a photograph mounted on grey card. Image shows a group of men seated outside a large brick building with a wooden sign high above their heads "HER-/ SPILLMAN/ THE/ ONLY/ BUILDERS/ OF/ IMPROVED/ 1873-1890" with the image of a carousel painted on the sign. AZ Watson Taken at Midnight

Item consists of a sepiatone black and white photograph of a man and a dog at midnight in Nome, Alaska. The man appears to be standing on a porch with his hands in his pockets. He is wearing a long dark coat, glasses and a hat. There are binoculars around his neck. There is a dog in the foreground, at the feet of the man. There is an uneven white border around the image and at the bottom of the photograph is written "AZ Watson Taken at Midnight" in pen. On the back of the photograph in pencil is handwritten "Taken at Nome Alaska at 12 oclock at night continuous light sun set at 10.20 pm June 21st 1902".

"Photographs" is embossed in black ink on the tan clothe-bound album cover. There are 50 spaces for photographs on the 26 pages, and the 38 extant images are of people at work and play in rural and urban areas. Ferdinand, Daytona Beach Florida

Title taken from card-frame. The bull in the picture with the name Ferdinand on the card-frame could be referencing the children story of Ferdinand The Bull from 1935, made into a cartoon in 1938 by Walt Disney - this would potentially date the image from after 1938. The tintype is an image of a bull with a man sitting on its back, arms in the air and holding two guns. Another man stands beside the bull, in sunglasses and a hat. They seem to be standing on a beach.

Item is a photographic enlarger consisting of nine parts; a metal base, two shafts, one bellows/negative holder assembly with red filter, lens assembly, lamp with cord, and three cardbooard negative guides. Cast into the vertical assembly are the words: "Fotolarger, Testrite, N.Y." Photographs are travel snapshots from a cruise aboard the S.S. Vigilancia, a steamship that traveled from New York to Vera Cruz, Mexico. There are photographs of the popular sites and activities in Cuba, Bahamas and Mexico, including bullfighting, shoe shining, street scenes, cattle ranches, restaurants, mahogany, rubber, cocoa and banana trees, canoeing, vendors, Pico de Orizaba, markets. cathedrals, monuments, etc.

American actress and "Gaiety Girl", Jennie McNulty was the leader of the Chroisters' Association in 1895, a predominately women's club with four small rooms for reading, writing, and relaxing and two large rooms for rehearsals.

Lillian Russell, 1861-1922

Lillian Russell, born Nellie Leonard in Clinton, Iowa in 1861, was a famous comic opera actress in New York city. She made her stage debut in "Time Tries All" in Chicago in 1877 before moving to New York in 1879 and continuing her career in musicals, burlesque and dramatic shows. Near the end of her life, she was appointed as a special investigator to study immigration conditions by President Harding. She presented a report to the United States Department of Labor that suggested an "immigration holiday" of 5 years, the sifting of immigrants on the other side, and 21 years residence in the US before naturalization. Item consists of an album with a black cover held by a string. It contains black-and-white photographic prints of a family in Peoria, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan. Album includes images of people on a farm, park and a boat as well as of people posing outside.

Photo cards, portraits

The card-mounted photographs are all studio portraits of unidentified individuals. The first of two cabinet cards is embossed with "Quartley", and the second is embossed with "Morton."
