Item is a publicity portrait of Beniamino Gigli, an Italian operatic singer who sang for many Italian opera companies and debuted for the Metropolitan Opera in 1920. He is shown in profile, with one foot resting upon a chair. Black ink inscription on surface of photograph reads, 'Bgigli Montreal 1925'

Item is a cream coloured carte-de-visite with gold border and photograph of a man. Handwritten in black ink at bottom of card, "Yours truly (C. M. Parker(?)" On verso, handwritten in pencil at very bottom, "Class of 1870." and "Delphi, Ind."

Item is a brown card with embossed decoration of a lion in shield at upper left. Again, lion at bottom right, picked out with tan ink, with the text "I.D. JACKSON CO./ DETROIT". Right flap is decoratively frayed. Inside photograph of three young men in suits and ties.

Very dark suit and background make the white tie and the sitter's face stand out.

Item consists of a black card with embossed oval decoration and a photograph inset of a young man with high collar, tartan tie and flower in the lapel of his jacket. At bottom right, embossed, "Johonson Bros./ INDIAN HEAD". And on verso, handwritten in pencil, "with Love to Florence".

Item consists of a gold edged card with a light pink base, and text in gold letterpress at the bottom edge, "A.I. Witter, Pecatonica, Ill." A long, narrow photograph gives a full length portrait of a man in a 3 piece suit all done in the same white flecked wool fabric. The coat is a little overlarge, probably a late 1860s style, and is buttoned at the top button only. He wears a striped ascot, and leans against a chair in front of a painted studio backdrop depicting a window and mantel. On the verso, a long text handwritten in pencil that indicates the sender (probably the man pictured in the card) could not come for New Year's as he had other obligations with a family called the Bowlys(?). He signs his initials "A.H." At the top left, in a different hand, "805/ 12.-".

Photograph is a portrait of a man with high collared white shirt and patterened tie with open jacket. On verso, handwritten in pencil, "John Montgomery" and in brown ink, at right, "This picture/ belongs to/ Dorothy Higby".

Item is an example of an ambrotype with broken glass and worn coloured backing. Ambrotype is in a velvet-lined thermoplastic union case, showing a male sitter in front of a studio backdrop. The case was intended for use with 1/6 plate daguerreotypes, as indicated by the manufacturer's stamp on the inside back cover beneath the ambrotype plate: "Littlefield, Parsons & Co.,/ MANUFACTURERS OF/ Daguerrotype Cases./ L., P. & Co., are the sole/ Proprietors and only legal Manu-/ facturers of UNION CASES, with the/ Embracing Riveted Hinge./ Patented October 14, 1856,/ and April 21, 1857."

Item is an ambrotype photograph in a velvet-lined thermoplastic union case, showing a male sitter. A stamp on the inside back cover beneath the ambrotype plate gives the manufacturer of the case: "Littlefield, Parsons & Co.,/ Sole Manufacturers of / UNION CASES,/ with/ Embracing Riveted Hinge./ PATENTED/ October 14, 1856, & April 21, 1857."
