United Nations radio tapes on Women - audio cassettes

Produced by the United Nations Radio Service Department of Public Information. Women was a radio program about people, events and issues effecting the lives and circumstances of women around the world. Also featured are interviews with women in leadership positions around the world or in special United Nations programs on women.
The radio show was recorded more than 20 years ago and as a result it utilizes language and terminology that is no longer acceptable for use today and may be considered harmful or racist. The radio recordings themselves cover topics, that often include graphic first person testimonials, that may be harmful or difficult to listen to. Topics include gender, race, religious, ethnic based violence; domestic violence; kidnapping; human trafficking; sexual exploitation; rape; reproductive rights; reproductive health; death; abortion; war; and violent death.

Philips LDK 3 Colour TV studio camera

The Phillips LDK 3 Colour TV camera was one of two purchased by TMU (formerly Ryerson) in 1968 as the first colour camera on campus. They were installed in the RTA Studio B television studio located in Kerr Hall East.

Ampex VR-1200 Series Videotape Recorder

This AMPEX VR-1200 series videotape recorder (possibly VR-1200B) is an early colour/monochrome quadraplex 2-inch analogue recorder for television studios by AMPEX Data Systems Corporation and it was a smaller and lighter version of an earlier AMPEX model. In 1967 this artifact was installed in the RTA Video Tape Recorder Room (VTR) located in Kerr Hall East, 3rd floor, when Studio B was converted to colour.

Along the Color Line with Dr. Manning Marable - audio cassettes

"Along the Color Line" was a public affairs commentary series on issues and perspectives of African American people by Dr. Manning Marable. This nationally syndicated column (originally called From the Grassroots) which started in 1976, was featured in more than 320 publications and evolved to include radio broadcasts featured on radio stations in the United States and internationally.
File contains collection of audio cassettes featuring the Along the Color Line Radio commentary series dated between 1992 and 1995 while Marable was a Professor of History and Political Science and Director of the Institute of Research in African American Studies at Columbia University. Each cassette has multiple commentaries on different topics.

Seneca Camera City View plate camera

Item consists of a 5" x 7" dry plate view camera with Eastman Kodak Company Fixed Prime Lens with automatic shutter. The City View camera from the Seneca Camera was available in several sizes from 5"x7" to 17"x 0", and were originally sold in a set that included a base, plate holders, carrying case, and tripod.
