Roads to Perdition Lecture series

The Roads to Perdition lecture series occurred between January and May of 2011. The series was a partnership between the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education and the Revue cinema. The lecturer Kevin Courrier is an instructor at the School in Programs for the 50+.

Scissors and ribbon

Pair of small orange handled scissors with engraved metal disc attached. Engraved into disc "Mayor David Crombie Continuing Education 9 Mar 78" and on the other side "Genuine Imitation Gold-Plated Scissors". With the scissors is an orange ribbon - cut in half.
Mayor David Crombie used the scissors to cut the ribbon to open the new headquarters for the Division of Continuing Education in the Mordell Building (Library Building).

Shirley Shipman Memorial Lecture Announcements

The Shirley Shipman Memorial Lectures began in 2006 after the Shipman family established a fund in her memory to support an annual lecture series on topics of social justice and life long learning. Shirley Shipman was a founding member of the LIFE Institute and the co-chairperson of the curriculum committee.

Student survey results

File contains two copies each of two surveys. The first survey was conducted in January of 1978 and encompassed all students enrolled in continuing education classes. The survey was conducted over a one week period and was completed by 81% of enrolled students. The survey focused on four things: student profile, organization, employment, and future courses.
The second survey focused on summer courses at Ryerson. The survey was conducted between June 9 and August 20. It focused on five things: who are summer students at Ryerson, is course scope and coverage adequate, how do students perceive Ryerson, what are student's education patterns, and how did students hear about the Summer at Ryerson program.

Submission to CAUCE Awards for program distinction

File contains the submission put forward to The Canadian Association for University Continuing Education (CAUCE). The complete title of the submission is: Submission to CAUCE Awards for program distinction 1987 - Coordination of Home Support Services: a collaborative program between Ryerson Continuing Education and Ontario Home Support Organizations.
Included in the submission are conference programs and evaluations from the 1985 and 1986 conferences and a program and newsletters for the 1987 joint conference.

Summer at Ryerson slide show

File contains colour photographic slides. The slide show might have been used to give the viewer some general information about Continuing Education's "Summer At Ryerson" program and a general view of the Ryerson campus and its facilities.
The slide show was created by students in Radio and Television Arts with help from the Media Centre.

Supportive Housing Task group papers

The Supportive Housing Task Group were responsible for the organization and implementation of a course series "Supportive Housing Management" through Ryerson's Continuing Education division. Material consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings of the Supportive Housing Task Group, proposed courses, brochures and pamphlets regarding course series.

T-shirts

File contains two t-shirts created for the Summer at Ryerson programming.
RG 27.01.007.04.01 is a navy blue shirt with white writing and images on it.
RG 27.01.007.04.02 is a yellow t-shirt with blue writing and images on it.

Tourism seminars

File contain a copy of the proceedings from the Tourism '73 seminar held November 1972 at the Ontario Science Centre. The seminar was presented by the Management Development Institute. Also in the folder is a copy and Tourism '75 - A Time for Dialogue seminar held March 26-27, 1975. It was presented by the Management Development Institute and the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management degree program.

Training and Development certificate program proposals

Treasured Memories: Winning Contest Essays

File contains two copies of the Treasured Memories book of essays. The book was created as a result of a contest sponsored by the Recording Recollections group and funded by a grant from New Horizons Canada. Half of the book contains essays written by members of the recollections group and the other half were chosen from essays submitted from across Canada.

Voluntarism - Pre Conference Reports

File contains copies of the issues papers written for the "A New Era in Voluntarism" conference. Papers were circulated to conference delegates to prepare them for the concurrent working sessions at the conference. Also in the file are blank registration confirmation form letters and a listing of confirmed attendees as of Feb. 7, 1986.

The Conference was co-sponsored by the Canadian Housing Design Council and Ryerson Polytechnical Institute - Continuing Education, Faculty of Community Services, Department of Architectural Science and Landscape Architecture, and the School of Urban and Regional Planning.
