Ryerson Rambler magazine

This Ryerson publication was mailed to the Ryerson community and alumni. The collection is not complete ; there are no issues for 1972 and a few issues appear to be missing from the 1960s.

In 1997 the name was changed to Ryerson Magazine, with the first issue appearing in the Spring of that year. A further name change occurred in 2022 to Toronto Met University Magazine (see Related materials below for a link.)

Technikos magazine

The magazine was mailed to alumni once or twice a year, keeping alumni up-to-date on the happenings of the school. Only 10 issues were published before another alumni magazine replaced it by "The Ryerson Review".

The magazine was mailed to alumni once a year during the summer, keeping alumni up-to-date on the school. Only three issues were published before another alumni magazine replaced it.

FORUM newsletter, 1987-1994

Series consists of copies of the FORUM newsletter published by the Office of Community Relations. They were published throughout the year from September to June or July. Topics included Ryerson specific news, staffing updates and staff and alumni notices. This series contains volumes 13-17.
The final hard copy edition of the FORUM was published October 2005 - moving to an electronic format with its next issue. It was replaced by an online email newsletter Ryerson Today, on October 19, 2009.

LTO Conferences

The series holds files on a number of faculty conferences, including the Ryerson Faculty Conference held each May, the McGraw-Hill Ryerson Teaching and Learning Conference Series, and the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE).

FORUM newsletter, 1975-1987

Series consists of copies of the FORUM newsletter published by the Office of Information Services. They were published on the calendar year, each new volume starting in September. Topics included Ryerson-specific news, staffing updates and staff and alumni notices. This series contains Volume's 1 - 12.
The final hard copy edition of the FORUM was published October 2005 - moving to an electronic format with its next issue. It was replaced by an online email newsletter Ryerson Today, on October 19, 2009.

Annual Reports - Wellesley School of Nursing

Sub-series contains annual reports created by the Directors of the Wellesley School of Nursing. The majority of the reports are the ones sent to the Department of Health, and then the College of Nurses of Ontario to register the school. Included with some of these are the reports by the Department inspectors as a result of their visits to the Nursing School. The file also contains annual reports written for the Wellesley Hospital Board of Directors, and a variety of correspondence and questionnaires from other Nursing ruling bodies including the Canadian Nurses' Association and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.

Course Calendars

File contains digital pdf copies of course calendars for the Yeates School of Graduate Studies. Calendars between 2006-2013 are divided by term (Fall, Winter, Spring/Summer) and full year calendars starting in the 2013-2014 school year. There was no 2021-2022 calendar published.

Convocation videos

File contains DVDs created for each convocation ceremony and given to graduates. As of 2017, the convocation videos were no longer made into DVDs. The electronic copy of the ceremony videos were passed on to the Archives for retention.

D. 1981 - Official opening of the Hester How Day Care Centre at Toronto's City Hall with Brian Segal (University President), Paul Godfrey (Metro Chairman), and Arthur (Art) Eggleton (Toronto Mayor). The playground equipment was designed and constructed by TMU (formerly Ryerson) first year Architecture students.

Included in the file is correspondence, meeting minutes, forms and other materials related to the topics mentioned previously.

Presentation to Porter Commission, 1977

The Royal Commission on Electric Power Planning was chaired by Dr. Arthur Porter and was referred to as the Porter Commission. An interim report on nuclear power in Ontario titled "A Race Against Time" was published in 1978.
The file includes a copy of a part of a submission authored by Helmut Burkhardt and R. Szmidt for the commission, a page and folder of handwritten notes, and an unrelated letter from the University of Regina regarding the formation of their Energy Research Unit.

Architecture Building

Several photos of the architecture building at 325 Church Street prior to, during and after the complete build; as well as, the Official Opening on October 14, 1981, which documents the arrivals of John B. Transdisciplinary knowledge structures and curriculum innovation

One copy of the published proceedings of the Second Canadian Conference on Foundations and Applications of General Science Theory. The conference was held at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute May 24-25, 1990 in the Oakham House Lounge. Helmut Burkhardt was the editor of the publication, which was printed at Ryerson, and also contributed papers to the publication.

The SCITEC (The Association of the Scientific Engineering and Technological Community of Canada) annual general meeting and conference was held at the Ontario Science Centre November 8, 9, 10, 1981. Design Archive photographic collection

Design Archive Inc. was the professional company of photographer Robert Burley, who established it in January 1987 and acted as president until January, 2000. Design Archive Inc. specialized in architectural photography: work is project-based, with project locations including commercial centers, businesses, private residences, and public places of note. Interior and exterior architectural structure is the predominant photographic subject, with landscapes and detailed design highlights, furniture, and machinery filling out the collection. In 2003, Burley accepted a full-time teaching position at Ryerson University’s School of Image Arts and suspended work at Design Archive Inc.

These fonds include photographic materials, including photographic prints, contact sheets, negatives, CDs, and other miscellaneous items that were collected by Design Archive Inc. from 1987 to 2003.

The fonds contains records created by Peter Di Gangi (Sicani Research), containing research related to Indigenous governance in Canada. The content includes published and unpublished materials and topics include: policy and research papers on Indigenous law and policy, federal government reports and statistics, Ontario government reports and statistics (focused on northern and northwestern Ontario), draft reports and intervenor submissions prepared for the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples (RCAP), Assembly of First Nations reports and committee kits, records from the Centre for Treaty Advocacy, policy papers on federal legislation and the Indian Act, social programs, taxation, lands, various court cases and decisions with analyses, materials on the evolution of federal Claims policy and efforts at reform, some material related to United States Indian policy and treaties.

The fonds has been divided into series by box (35 in total) and further divided into files and items. The series, file, and item titles were provided by the donor (with some exceptions).

Names and terminology used in the scope and content field reflect the names and terminology used in the files and on the items and is often outdated and out of use. (i.e. Department of Indian Affairs (DIA); Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations). Every attempt has been made to utilize the current names in the creator and access points fields in the records (i. e. Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC); Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN).
