Fonds consists of 12 "Canadian Kodakery" magazines dating from June 1916 to May 1917, 1 issue of "Kodak on the Farm" and 2 issues of "Kodak and Kodak Supplies" with 107 negatives interfiled between the pages. The magazines were used as an arrangement system for negatives of the Glencoe, Ontario area. The pages of the magazines have notes in the margins describing the subject of the negative stored at that page, and tabs have been cut out of the pages much like one would see tabs on a card index. Most of the negatives are consistent with the No. 122 roll film size but a few were taken with a smaller film format.

FORUM newsletter, 1994-2009

Over the years, the FORUM newsletter was published weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-weekly, and, finally only six issues per year. Topics included Ryerson news, staffing updates, and staff and alumni notices. The publishing schedule was changed in 2006 to a calendar year from the academic year. The October 2005 issue was the last hard copy and a solely digital format was was released with the next print in 2006. The FORUM was discontinued in 2009 and replaced with a new newsletter, Ryerson Today, on October 19, 2009 distributed via email notification and a link to the webpage. This series contains volumes 20 - 30 and then newsletters from 2006-2008.

A colour film depicting various Ryerson, city and other scenes. Examples are: student parade, ferry crossing and island picnic; Ryerson statue, Howard Kerr Hall; demolition of O'Keefe brewery; "Daisy" computer system; class and lab scenes such metallurgy, home, economics, fashion (shows), photography; Howard Kerr Hall quadrangle; library; class scenes; "Great Hall" cafeteria (Howard Kerr Hall); basketball game (Ryerson/York); Toronto scenes/Nathan Phillips Square; Don Gillies in class; Secretarial Science class; RTA studio (Show: Interview with Elwy Yost), RTA students/TV cameras/consoles; Library; Exams in gymnasium; Convocation: Procession/Lamp of Learning/ Howard Kerr Hall Quadrange fountain/cermonies/Fred Jorgenson/Eggy the Ram. Approximately 30 minutes in length. The sound quality is poor. This description has been placed inside the film can. Film produced by Darryl Williams, probably during his student years before graduating from Photograph Arts, who later became a Ryerson faculty member. Faculty member Ben Caza was the production manager.

The Ryerson Company Of Players

The Ryerson Company of Players was organized in November 1970 by a group of senior students at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. The purpose of this group was to bring live children's theatre during the summer to those areas of Ontario which seldom or never had the opportunity to experience this form of entertainment.This file contains brochures, minutes of meetings, a budget proposal, correspondence, newspaper clippings and a photograph pertaining to this theatre group/program.

Ryerson Theatre Company

In the 1970s and 1980s the Ryerson Theatre Company was made up of final year students from the acting, dancing and technical programs - representing their transition year from the student to a professional. They were responsible for all aspects of the show including promotion, production, and performance. It is unclear why there was a revival of the name periodically through the years.
The file contains correspondence, memos, advertising, posters. photographs, programs, budgets and documents relating to the operation and promotion of the company.

Performing Arts Series Agents

Advertising and correspondence regarding various artistic groups who toured North American theatres. Some of these groups and individuals were engaged by the Ryerson Theatre Department.

Ryerson and University of Toronto co-operative project - Opera Dept.

Correspondence and information relating to the use of second and third year Technical and production students from Ryerson by the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, to spend 50% of their production training time in building, running and lighting various operas and operatic excerpts. This relationship provided important professional education for Ryerson students.

Jack McAllister correspondence

Correspondence written by Jack McAlister. Letters regarding his applications for funding from the Federal Government to finance trips to various theatrical institutions around the world through the Canadian Council Arts awards. His research led to the establishment of Ryerson's Theatre School - incorporating the best techniques of the schools he visited. File also includes letters written by him to his colleagues at Ryerson during his travels.

Exam papers from the Theatre School and the Canadian College of Dance. Also included is a supplemental exam from 1971 and exams created by Jack McAlister for his History of Drama class - which pre-dates the Theatre School.

Chairperson's external correspondence - Jack McAlister

Correspondence to and from John ("Jack") R. McAllister. McAllister was the original the artistic director for Ryerson's Theatre School and was later named the chairperson. Collection includes letters from Canadian dignitaries, as well as interesting correspondence from friends and colleagues.

Letters written by Sonia Chamberlain, Director of the Canadian College of Dance. Includes memos, budget proposals and letters received from students interested in attending the program. Includes a short history of the Canadian College of Dance from its origins, in Montreal (1957), to its present affiliation with Ryerson Theatre School. Biography of Sonia Chamberlain. Posters for performances can be found with other poster from the Ryerson Theatre Company and The Ryerson Theatre School.

Ryerson Student Nutrition Action Committee

Ryerson Student Nutrition Action Committee (RSNAC) was established as a peer education group by students for students, staff and faculty around 2006. Initially RSNAC developed a healthy eating tutorial and worked with Food Services to distribute educational newsletters. While the acronym RSNAC was in use in newsletters since March 2007, a newsletter from Nov. 2006 used the variant name: Ryerson Nutrition Action Committee.

The fonds contains newsletters and a printout from the committee's website as created in 2006.
