Canadian Kodak Sales Ltd. was incorporated on December 1, 1938 and acted as the distributing agent of Kodak products in Canada, thereby limiting Canadian Kodak's role to one of strict manufacturing.

File contains miscellaneous corporate documents compiled or produced by Kenneth Winter. Winter was the secretary of Kodak Canada from 1960 to 1976 and became president and general manager in 1976. The records were likely related to the task of the corporate historian, though it is unclear whether Winter ever officially fulfilled this role. Documents include correspondence with the Eastman Kodak historian, overviews of Canadian Kodak's corporate history, corporate memos, excerpts from by-laws, a Kodak Milestones promotional pamphlet, and others. There was significant crossover between the activities and personnel of the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs department and those of the Kodak Heritage Collection and Museum, particularly surrounding Kodak Canada's centennial celebrations in 1999.

File contains records related to the production of television, magazine, and web-based advertisements. Documents include: drafts of advertising copy and dialogue; graphic mock-ups and storyboards; market testing documents; notes and correspondence; and cost invoices. Most records were created by Canadian firm Baker Lovick Advertising between 1975 and 1977, but file also contains advertising copy from J. Walter Thompson of New York and promotional material from Toronto-based firm Rostrum International Inc. soliciting business from Kodak for its digital communications services.

File contains packaging for Kodak photofinishing--including envelopes for mail-order processing and developed negatives--from roughly 1907 to 1997. File also includes product packaging and instructions for Canadian Kodak's Azo developing paper from between 1909 and 1911. Azo is a silver chloride contact printing paper originally produced by Photo Materials Company of Rochester, NY. This latter company was purchased by Kodak in 1898, which then began producing and distributing Azo paper under its own name.

Documents include: image captions for photographs of individuals, products, and war-related munitions work; picture files for photographs for the 1962 annual report; correspondence with external individuals requesting usage rights; correspondence regarding the Kodak commemorative stamp photographs, product images, and Kodak Ltd.'s coronation photographs; and photography release forms. Most records in file were unfortunately divorced from their accompanying photographs at some point during their life cycle.

File contains miscellaneous overviews and histories of Kodak, written and used as reference material by Kodak Canada's communications department between 1958 and 2004. Includes brief background accounts and "fast facts," as well as "Kodak Canada Milestones" documents, which provide year-to-year accounts of Kodak Canada's activities. Most documents provide general corporate information, but some cover more specific topics, including the Ryerson Chair in Photography, Kodak's Toronto Expansion Program, the history of the Kodak camera, Kodak's offices in Quebec, Ottawa, and Edmonton, and the history of the Kodak Heights Power House (building #1). Many of the histories were written by Mel Rubinstein, Company Information Specialist, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. Corporate histories in this file appear to have been written retroactively and can thus be differentiated from Kodak Canada's "Corporate History Notes," which were written on an ongoing basis and provided day-to-day accounts of the company's life.
