Treasured Memories: Winning Contest Essays

File contains two copies of the Treasured Memories book of essays. The book was created as a result of a contest sponsored by the Recording Recollections group and funded by a grant from New Horizons Canada. Half of the book contains essays written by members of the recollections group and the other half were chosen from essays submitted from across Canada.

Recording Recollections publication

Short stories of memories by senior students. Once produced as a small publication two or three times per year, more recently as an more profession end-year publication. First offered in Continuing Education, the course was established and taught by Greta Wood until her retirement in 1996. The final publication was printed in 2015. The course is still offered, but the format changed and they no longer publish.

Celebrating LIFE and our coming of age: A five-part healthy ageing education series

Celebrating LIFE and our coming of age education series were held between February 28th and June 20th, 2015 in LIB 72. They were co-sponsered by The Chang School, the LIFE Institute and Mount Sinai Geriatrics. The series ran as follows:

Oral History Interviews

File contains 36 LIFE Institute Oral History Interviews totaling 14.6 hours of interviews. The interviews were conducted by Fran Gruber and Geoff Arnold.
Also included are 9 cassettes containing programs related to Senior citizen education and social issues.

"Coming to Life" documentary

File contains 2 copies of a documentary created by the LIFE Institute in conjunction with the Programs for the 50+ at the Raymond G. Change School of Continuing Education and the Government of Canada's New Horizons for Seniors program. The documentary tells eleven stories of people who are involved with the LIFE Institute and Programs for the 50+. Included in the documentary are stories about Geoff Arnold, Sharon Hampson, Dorothy Knight, Joan Lee, John Simke, Josephine Spencer, John Twomey, Kitty Wintrob, Charles Wright, and Marilyn Wright.
