As of November 12, 2012 Ryerson Today established a new format and will no longer be printed for our collection as a whole. Pertinent newstories and letters from the President etc. will continue to be printed as they appear.

The full lineage of internal publications for Kodak Canada employees ran as follows: At Kodak Heights was succeeded by Kodak in 1936. In 1955, the name was changed to Canadian Kodakery. The publicaton succeeded the magazine Kodak. The newer publication included a larger format than its predecessor, as well as new features. Collection includes vol. 1, no. 1 (Sept. 1955) to vol. 20, no. 6 (Aug./Sept 1975).

All issues from 1950. Eastman Kodak's Kodak Salesman became Kodak News in 1949, which then became Kodak Dealer News in May 1951.

File contains issues of the Canadian Edition of Studio Light, published by Eastman Kodak Company, from 1909 to 1929. The publication was launched in 1909 and was targeted toward professional photographers. File includes vol. 1, no. 1 (Mar. 1909) to vol. 21, no. 10 (Dec. 1929). The original name of the publication was Studio Light and the Aristo Eagle. The name was changed to Studio Light in February, 1910.

File consists of bound volumes containing both the American and Canadian editions of Studio Light, published by Eastman Kodak Company, from 1934 to 1940. The publication was targeted toward professional photographers.

Item is the inaugural issue of Studio Light/Commercial Camera, published by Eastman Kodak Company in 1969. A continuation of the company's Studio Light publication, the magazine was designed as a resource for professional photographers.

Item is AIDSCAN For Health Care Workers' annotated bibliography. It is titled "An annotated guide to selected references in the professional literature."

File consists of two black and white photographs from issues of Kodakery. The earlier photo is from the wedding of Art and Marjorie McLeod, featured in Canadian Kodakery, vol. 7, no. 10 (June 1962). The later photo is of Kodak Canada president, Ed Jurus, and was featured in Kodakery Canada, vol. 2, no. 7 (July/Aug. 1995).

The magazine was mailed to alumni once or twice a year, keeping alumni up-to-date on the happenings of the school. Only 10 issues were published before another alumni magazine replaced it by "The Ryerson Review".

The monthly publication, produced by Eastman Kodak Company for dealers of Kodak products, was published intermittently under both titles. Eastman Kodak's Kodak Dealer News was, until 1951, titled Kodak News.

Ryersonian Issues: November 15 & 22

The magazine insert - in the January mailing of the Alumni Magazine contains many photographs from the archives collections. Archives staff worked closely with Magazine staff - which included weeks of work finding and pulling photographs to be included in the print and online editions of the magazine and timeline.

This circular provided the Ryerson Community with information on day-to-day events taking place on Campus. From 1971 to April 1977, the publication was called "What's Happening Around Ryerson" with the name changing to "On Campus This Week" on the September 2, 1977 issue. "On Campus This Week" was last published in 1986. As an alternative, a number of departments agreed to pool their resources to sponsor, on a non-profit basis, a weekly full-page listing of campus events in the student newspaper, THE EYEOPENER.

File contains pasted draft versions of the Forum newsletter.

The Fifth Page was started in 1960 by a journalism student who felt that good literary material was crowded out of the four-page RYERSONIAN newspaper and needed a 5th page. Encouraged by English instructors D. G. Priestman and J. Hersh, students gathered short stories, poems, articles and art work from across the campus and began producing an annual literary magazine which the Publications Committee published.

Sub-series contains periodicals and annuals, created between 1900 and 2008, previously held and donated by Kodak Canada Inc. as part of the Kodak Canada Corporate Archives and Heritage Collection. Most periodicals are published by Eastman Kodak Co. and its susidiaries, Canadian Kodak Co., Ltd., and Kodak Limited (U.K.). Many of the periodicals were published for internal use, serving communications and community-building purposes for Kodak employees. However, many periodicals in the sub-series were also published for amateur and professional photographers, dealers of Kodak products, chemical engineers, and others. Some periodicals within the sub-series were published by external publishers.
