Photograph of a group of 7 passengers in an early automobile, stopped along Stanley Park drive in front of the "Hollow Tree". This old cedar was a popular spot for group photographs in both cars and horse-drawn carriages. The stamp on the back of the card mount indicates this was taken by an official park photographer: "The Stanley Park Photographers, Head Office, 162 Cordova Street, Vancouver, B.C.". The negative number for ordering more prints is given as 4869a.

File consists of four card mounted photographs, 3 of the same man in various poses and 1 of a woman. All mounted on black card by studios in Montreal. The photographs were found inside the Agnes Osberg album (2009.005.023) with a yellow sticky note that read: Came from the same family But Not this album.

Cream coloured card with grey border and oval photograph, showing a woman wearing an off-the-shoulder dress and heart necklace. The studio stamp at the bottom right is illustrated with a stylized version of the Prince of Wales coat of arms. On the lower right, the photographer's studio is identified as "The O'Keefe's/ Guelph, Ontario". Two of the portraits are duplicates. The third portrait is identified as "Jennie". Each card has a piece of glassine tissue covering the photo inside.

Item is an ambrotype photograph in a velvet-lined thermoplastic union case, showing a male sitter. A stamp on the inside back cover beneath the ambrotype plate gives the manufacturer of the case: "Littlefield, Parsons & Co.,/ Sole Manufacturers of / UNION CASES,/ with/ Embracing Riveted Hinge./ PATENTED/ October 14, 1856, & April 21, 1857."

Item is an example of an ambrotype with broken glass and worn coloured backing. Ambrotype is in a velvet-lined thermoplastic union case, showing a male sitter in front of a studio backdrop. The case was intended for use with 1/6 plate daguerreotypes, as indicated by the manufacturer's stamp on the inside back cover beneath the ambrotype plate: "Littlefield, Parsons & Co.,/ MANUFACTURERS OF/ Daguerrotype Cases./ L., P. & Co., are the sole/ Proprietors and only legal Manu-/ facturers of UNION CASES, with the/ Embracing Riveted Hinge./ Patented October 14, 1856,/ and April 21, 1857."

Photographic print of three women is trimmed into a tiny circle and set into a button assembly. The unsmiling women are shown wearing white blouses and darker neck bows. The button is black metal, with a gold metal pin.

The card-mounted photographs are all studio portraits of unidentified individuals. The first of two cabinet cards is embossed with "Quartley", and the second is embossed with "Morton." Two Cartes de visites are printed on verso with "J.F. Rowe. A fifth card is identified as a "Gem" photo card, printed on verso with "R.W. Knorr" and an advertisement for the tiny Gem format.

Images are of a gathering on a farm, with one group portrait and four snapshots of children. There is an illegible word inked on the envelope.

The photograph envelope is printed for the Owl Drug Store, of 336 Bloor St. West, and noted that the customer is "Mrs. Atwood, 23 Spadina." The negatives are of a woman wearing a white ensemble.

Photograph is of a woman sitting in front of a fireplace, with Redbook magazine open on her lap. The support for the image is a neon-red paper. On the lower right of the tan card mount is embossed the studio logo. On the verso is inscribed in green ink: "To Jessie, Wishing you many happy returns of the day. Violet. Jan. 1 1912."

The image is of two men, identified from their name tags as Tony Miller and Bill Hastings, discussing a Suzuki motorcycle.

Photographic image is of a two-horse team standing on a dirt road with cart and driver in front of residential buildings. The card mount is taupe and dark gray.

Two pairs of photographs originally grouped together. Two photographs are of a girl seated on a miniature chaise longue in front of garden wall, and two photographs are of the interior of Canterbury Cathedral. The cathedral photographs have both been written on verso in pencil "Canterbury Cathedral," and individually in ink, "Presbytery and Archbishop Bourchier's Tomb" and "Effigy of the Black Prince from his Tomb."

Three of these photographs are stamped on verso by the photography studio of H. R. Niebel, Orillia, Ont., and four are written on verso: "Peggy Grant and Muray infant", "Muray Grant, July / 26 - 17 mos.", "Florence Grant, Muray Grant, and Chris Wallace in Orilia", and "Cameron Grant and fella."

Black leather album, lined with satin, bound with black string. "Photographs" is embossed on the front cover, and "Royal Albums" and "Made in USA" are in gold letterpress inside the back cover. Snapshots are glued to 40 black construction paper pages. Primarily vernacular images of weddings, soldiers, and vacations. Only Dick Gossett, Alan Pride, Bill McMillan, Duncan Wallace, and Minnie (Wallace) Owens are identified. One photograph of young men is entitled "Bolsover Flirts."

Series consists of gelatin silver prints, albumen prints, acetate negatives, and various colour photographic processes produced by amateur photographers, usually in an informal, outdoor setting.

On verso, an etching of a waterfall with the text "Goodwin./ 314 SO SALINA ST/ ART Photography./ INSTANTANEOUS PROCESS". At the top edge, handwritten in ink, "Georgia Wilson".

Item is a cream cabinet card with gold letterpress, partially obscured by the photograph which is pasted on top, sideways. "Van Aken/ ELMIRA, N.Y." with a decoration with letters "V" and "A" intertwined. Photograph shows two individual circular portraits of a man and a woman. Handwritten in ink at the base of the woman's portrait is "1851" and the man's, "1850". Given the style of dress and hair, this is probably the date of the original picture and not a birth or death date. On verso, an elaborate border and design with griffon and foliage, with the text "E.M. Only the infant looks toward the camera.

Photograph is a full length portrait of a boy and girl, seated on the end of a bench. The boy wears kilt and tartan with matching hat and holds a walking stick. The girl wears a loose, wide-collared dress with frilled bonnet. On verso, elaborate stamp with photographer's name and various seals indicating prizes won and societies the photographer belonged to, including Ediburgh Photographic Society, Photographic Society of Scotland, Royal Scottish Society of Arts, Aberdeen Mechanics Institution. The stamp also indicates the studio was "PATRONIZED BY ROYALTY" and was established in 1849.
