Decorated blue cover with green pages. Photographs inserted into openings in pages. Handwritten notations in black ink. Some loose photographs; back indicate they were postcards.

Inside front cover: "Photographs taken from H.M.S. Superb during her voyage under sealed orders from Rosythe (Scotland) to take supreme command of the allied fleets in the Mediterranean and Near East, arrange the Armistice with Turkey and capture the German fleet in the Black Sea."

Blue cover with gold embossed letters- "Scrap Book." Bound with black string. White pages, photographs mounted photo corners or glue. Notation in black ink. Photographs are snapshots of people in front of buildings, street scenes, houses, streetcars, a transmitter station, soldiers, air force, Bolton Abbey, Bernard Castle, and other sites.

[Imperial Germany portraits]

This glass lantern slide is representative of personas from Imperial Militaria Germany (1871-1918). It has four portraits of men, they have been identified as Pope Leo XIII (1878-1903), Frederick III (Emperor in 1888 for 99 days, successor to William I and predecessor of William II), Helmuth von Meltke the Elder (Chief of Staff of the Prussian Army from 1822-1888) and Otto von Bismarck (Chancellor from 1871-1890). In the portrait of Frederick III, he is wearing the Order of the Black Eagle, which means he was Emperor in this picture. Since Frederick III only ruled in 1888, and the other three were either still in power or just retiring, we have tentatively dated the piece for after 1888. This year refers to the Year of Three Emperors, because it was the year that William I died, the year Frederick III ruled and died, and that William II took over as Emperor. The images are in colour, potentially colour halftone process on a glass slide. Just one pane of glass, printed on verso.

Malta, Italy, China album

Green fabric-coated album with some decorative linear gold embossing. Spine torn along edges. First and last page have a decorative leaf pattern. Notations are handwritten in black ink. Photographs are mounted in between two layers, seemingly embedded into album's pages.
Photographs are of a family traveling through Malta, Italy, Portugal and China, taken at sites such as Pompei, Mount Vesuvius, the Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace, as well as some photographs of the railway through a mountainous countryside.
Some photographs include images of the crew and family aboard the S.S. Somali, a British passenger and cargo steam ship that travelled between England and Hong Kong, stopping at locations such as Italy and India to drop off or pick up cargo. The ship was built in 1930 and was destroyed by a bomb while being towed on March 27, 1941. The shipwreck still remains upright off the coast of the United Kingdom, on the East side of Glasgow off the shore of North Sunderland.

Assuming dates of album are between 1930-1941, based on S.S. Somali's active days, King of Italy pictured would be King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy and his Queen, Elena of Montenegro.

Item consists of brown, textured, hardcover, leather-bound album with decorative flower detailing on cover. Leather has worn off the spine. Pages are an off-white colour with decorative gold embossing and illustrative floral detail. Photographs slide in between two pieces of card that make each page and hold them in place.

Photographs are mostly portraits of one or two figures taken in studios across England, primarily around London, in towns and cities that include Brighton, Luton, Woburn, Tavistock, Bedford, Northampton and London. One photograph was made at J. C. Waler & Co. at 147 Yonge Street, Toronto.The address written inside the cover of the album is 61 High Street Ridgmont Bedford. Some notes and captions are written under and on the back of a few of the photographs in pencil and black ink. File consists of an album with the words "scrapbook" written on the front in red and blue letters. On the cover there is a picture of a boy sitting at a desk with a crown counting coins. In the room around him are pictures of a knight fighting an ogre; a picture of two hunters, and a fireplace with a clock on the mantle beside a mounted horse figurine, some books. and a calendar. The pages are plain off-white in colour and have articles and photographs glued in, along with many loose clippings and photos spread throughout.
