Biographical history

Thomas J. Leatherdale operated a photography studio under his own name, from 1898-1906, that was first located at 147 King St E, and later moved to 52 King St W, Hamilton, Ontario. In 1910 he opened a studio at 32 1/2 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario that was susceded by Miss Margaret Leatherdale from 1921 onwards.

Item is a grey card with black embossed decoration around oval photograph of a man with high white collar and ascot tie. At bottom right, embossed, "Leatherdale/ 52 KING ST W./ HAMILTON, ONT."

Physical condition

Fair. Brown staining in image, water stain at upper right. Corners are worn. Abrasion at lower right and tear out of card on verso at upper right.
