Hour-long television special aired on CBC March 12 1967. Originally in colour, Directed by Paddy Sampson.
“Songs, stills and films recall The Depression. Host Patrick Watson’s youthful recollections are contrasted with films and stills of bread lines, Prohibition in the U.S, civil leaders exhorting the public not to loose faith, and the rise of Nazism and fascism in Europe.
The singers are Billy Van, Les Leigh, Jack Northmore, Patty Van, Kathy Collier, Bonnie Brooks and Norma Locke.
