Item is a photograph album with an ornate cover and metal clasps. Gold trimmed pages with openings to insert the CDVs. Spine in very poor condition; some torn pages; one loose photograph. Contains 26 gelatin silver and albumen photographs.

Many pages are empty. One loose photograph. Photographs consist of portraits; some with animals such as dogs or horses.

Photo studios include McMillan, Ontario and J Nicol Photographer, Nairn.

People and places album

Decorated cover detached from binding. Beige pages. Notations in black ink. Some loose photographs. Many pages blank. One of blank pages has "Stouffville" written, but no photos.

Northern Ontario

Red cover bound with red string. Black pages. Most photographs mounted using black photo corners; smaller photographs appear to be glued in. Heavily annotaed with notations and drawings in white ink - fading in places - including quote from Wilbur D. Nesbit's poem "Smile".
Individual and group portraits show family and friends in rural life settings and on various trips including skiing, mining, mountainous terrain, several lakes. Several captions include dates 1936, 1937, 1938.
Themes: family photographs, rural and farm life, family/group trips, gold mining, cars, trains, aeroplanes, cameras, skiing.

Themes include: portraits, landscapes, waterscapes waterfalls, boats and canoes, houses, carriages, railroad tracks, National Flag of Canada c. 1896.

Photographic album containing images of a family including snapshots of recreational activities in various locations throughout Southern Ontario. Noted locations include: Uxbridge (Victory Day), Centre Island, High Park, and Oakville. Several images portray soldiers and one image has the caption "Victory Day, Uxbridge, Ont."

Photograph album contains images of various Kodak Heights subjects including: recreational activities including baseball, lawn ball; company field trips, election campaigns for the Board of Governors and the K.A.A. Governorship; rallying support for WWI soldiers and campaigns for victory bonds. Includes a portrait of John G. Palmer (d. 1921), who acted as Canadian Kodak Co.'s first President and General Manager from 1918 to 1921.

Inside cover has what appears to be a very small, very thin horseshoe mounted to the page; also, a small card is mounted to the page - contains two poems: "In Flanders' Fields" written by Colonel John McCrae from Canada serving in France 1917, and "America's Answer" written by R. W. Lillard appearing in the New York Evening Post.

On the third right-hand page, centre photo "Belle of a Masquerade", bottom left corner, faded date 1919. Other handwritten notations include summer 1911, summer 1913

A photographic album containing snapshot photographs of family gatherings, most appear to be in Ontario. Includes early photo-booth images as well as a variety of snapshots documenting family life and recreational activities throughout rural Ontario in the early twentieth century. The inside title page contains a handwritten inscription, "Earle G.[?] :omdsau, Christmas 1915."

Item is a decorated hard cover album (CDV album). Closes with clasps. Album pages are beige with open slots for photographs. Hand-painted flowers frame the openings on every page. Gold trimmed. Contains tintypes and albumen cartes-de-visite.

Floral album

Item consists of a brown and gold album with the text "Floral Album" on the front cover. The pages have painted floral illustrations around the photographs and gold detailing on the edges. It contains portraits of mostly individuals and a few families or group. The images were taking by companies in Stouffville, Montreal and Toronto. Handwritten notes next to most portrait, describing the relationship of the persone photographed ("Flora Powell - cousin, Uncle Dave Wellman - Half brother of 1st family.")

Panorama album

Item consists of a large rectangular album with the word "Photographs" printed on the cover. Album includes photographs of lakes, rivers, farms and landscapes in Ontario and Quebec. The first page of the album is a key to the album with names of each location, such as Trout Lake, Deux Rivieres, James Bay. Some pages have large panoramic images of locations, and others have several smaller photographs on the page.

Item is a grey card with full body photograph of a young woman standing in a studio setting, with drapering and an urn to the right and a small wooden table with an oval portrait photograph to the left. The girl wears a light dress with dark embroidery in the Edwardian "S" curve style. At the bottom right on the card, embossed in black, "Westlake Bros/ CHATHAM, ONT."

Kiwanis showboat days album

Black leather cover, gold embossing ("photographs" and "showboat days"). Black pages with photographs glued in. Album bound by black braided string. "No. A Balmoral Album / Made in Canada by Canadian Kodak Co. Limited (Genuine Leather)."

Mostly collage work, cut out from show program, newspaper clippings of reviews and photographs from the London Kiwanis Club "Showboat Days Revue" at the Grand Theatre.

The review included glee club performances, theatrical acts and minstrel shows. The minstrel performances included several white performers in blackface.

Minstrel shows are a style of variety show, most popular during the late 19th and early 20th century, in which white performers use make-up and costumes to depict racist and stereotypical caricatures of Black people. The genre originated in the United States, but Canada had its own troupes and touring companies, and the format was popular with schools, community groups, and religious organizations.
