Biographical history

Warner Gothard (1865-1909) ran a photography business with his brother William, which had studios in Grimsby, Wakefield, Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Barnsley and Rochdale. They were particularly successful with photographic postcards, and the business likely peaked between 1900 and 1920. The business was succeeded by Warner Gothard's son of the same name, who passed away in 1940.
