Scope and content
Produced by professors Darryl Williams and Donald Gillies of the Photographic Arts Department (now the School of Image Arts) through the facilities of Ryerson Community Television (RCTV), this is an interview between Robert J. Fleming and Marshall McLuhan conducted in 1971 and lasting approximately 28 minutes. The director is Christopher Davies. The main focus of the interview appears to be the University of Canada North. This DVD copy was produced by the Rogers Communications Centre from an original videotape donated to the RCC by the widow of Darryl Williams. The original one-inch tape was in turn donated by the RCC to the National Archives of Canada because the Archives has the necessary technology to handle this obsolete format and because of the tape's historical significance. The RCC has retained a master DVD copy. Master copy of DVD retained by Rogers Communications Centre VHS
