History
Since 1999, Ziad Saghir has worked as a professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Ryerson’s Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his BSc (1979) and MSc (1980) in Mechanical Engineering from Université Laval. In 1984, he received his PhD (1984) in Computational Fluid Dynamics from the University of Toronto. He was the Conference Chair for the Seventh International Conference on Thermal Engineering: ICTEA November 2013 in Morocco. From 1989 to 1993, he was a program scientist at the Canadian Space Agency. From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a project engineer at Canadian Astronautics Limited. He is a member of the Professional Engineers Ontario, Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec and Professional Engineering of Lebanon and has won the Premier Research of Excellence Award. His research interests include computational fluid dynamics, material science, flow in porous media and biomedical engineering.
