Biografie
Herman Mishkin (1871-1932) immigrated to the United States from Russia in 1885, where he began studying the photographs of Aime Dupont and began a career as a photographer-publicist with Oscar Hammerstein's Manhatten Opera Company. In 1908 he became the official photographer for the Metropolitan Opera alongside operating a portrait studio in New York City.

He is shown in profile, with one foot resting upon a chair. Black ink inscription on surface of photograph reads, 'Bgigli Montreal 1925'
