The William Kempa fonds contains materials created and collected by him during his time in the Public Health Inspection department at Ryerson as the director, chairman, instructor and professor in the course between 1967-1981. Also in the fonds are materials relating to his involvement in the International Association of Milk, Food and Environmental Sanitarians Inc., his time working in the City of Regina's Health Department as the Milk and Dairy Inspector, and his involvement in other organizations.
The course "Environmental Management for the Public Health Inspector", held September 13-17, 1971, was offered at the request of the Atlantic Branch of the the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspector under the auspices of the Departments of Health for Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland. The course was conducted in co-operation with the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University by the Institute of Public Affairs at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Bill Kempa provided a paper "Educational Trends in the Public Health Inspection Profession".
