Errol Aspevig

File contains head shots of Errol Aspevig. Errol Aspevig was at Ryerson for over 30 years. During his time at Ryerson he was the Dean of Arts, and he also served as the Provost and Vice Presiden Academic.

Eugen Bannerman and Adrian Pecknold

File contains portraits of Eugen Bannerman and Adrian Pecknold. Eugen Bannerman is a former professor in Ryerson's Department of Psychology and he served as Ryerson's Bedel at convocation until his retirement. Adrian Pecknold was a Canadian mime , director and author. He taught in Ryerson's Theatre School in the 1980s and 1990s.

Stalin Boctor

File contains head shots of Stalin Boctor professor in Electrical Engineering, he also served as the departmental chair and would eventually become Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture, and Science.

Debbie Chant

File contains head shots of Debbie Chant, a professor in the School of Early Childhood Studies. Photographs were taken at two different sessions. One set of photographs was taken when she was on secondment as Assistant to the President.

File contains head shots of Ken Grant (Information Technology). File includes an article from the "FORUM" magazine published April, 1999 when he was Director of the School of Information Technology Management.

Campus exteriors

File contains photographic slides taken around campus. Included are aerial campus photos, Kerr Hall and the Quad, Victoria Lane - including the Podium and Library buildings, Lake Devo, Rogers Communication Centre, O'Keefe House, Pitman Hall, Student Campus Centre, the Normal School facade, and Yonge-Dundas re-development. Also include are photographs of flowers around campus and the Bird of Spring sculpture. A number of the photographs were taken during the winter.

FORUM newsletter, 1994-2009

Over the years, the FORUM newsletter was published weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-weekly, and, finally only six issues per year. Topics included Ryerson news, staffing updates, and staff and alumni notices. The publishing schedule was changed in 2006 to a calendar year from the academic year. The October 2005 issue was the last hard copy and a solely digital format was was released with the next print in 2006. Tthe FORUM was discontinued in 2009 and replaced with a new newsletter, Ryerson Today, on October 19, 2009 distributed via email notification and a link to the webpage. This series contains volumes 20 - 30 and then newsletters from 2006-2008.

Alumni directory, 1998-1999

Three copies of the 1998 / 1999 Alumni Directory (one soft-cover, two hard-cover). One hard-cover copy is engraved with gold lettering : "The Ryerson Archives". The directory includes alumni up to and including the graduates of 1997. The information is also stored on disk.

Homecoming and alumni weekend materials

Series contains promotional records, objects, and other materials created for Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. Included are memory books created for the 50th Anniversary class years. In 2007 the name changed from Homecoming to Alumni Weekend.
The series is divided into files by year.

Homecoming 1995

Homecoming was held October 14, 1995. File contains tickets, a questionnaire, a speech by Des McAnuff, correspondence, and photographic contact sheets from Homecoming 1995.

Videos

File contains 1 vhs copy of the November 25, 1998 Ryerson Alumni awards ceremony, and 3 promotional tapes of nominated alumni for the 2000 awards. Two of those tapes are for Joeffer Caoc, Fashion '93 and one was for Robert J. Sawyer, RTA '82.

1998 ceremony

File contains materials relating the the inaugural Alumni Achievement Awards held November 25, 1998. The unveiling of the wall in Jorgenson Hall was followed by the Awards ceremony held in Library Building theatre L72.
The Alumni Award of Distinction winners were: Lida Baday, Fashion '79; Ronald D. Besse, Business Administration; James R. Bullock, Business Administration '65; Rosemary Heneghan Campbell, Secretarial Science '77; Cathy Crowe, Nursing '85; Donald M. Green, Mechanical Engineering '54; Susan Langdon, Fashion '77; Arthur Lee, Business Administration '78; Valerie Pringle, RTA '74; Marshall Pynkoski, Theatre '77; Isadore Sharp, Architecture '52; Klaus Woerner, Industrial Engineering '72; and Jeannette Zingg, Theatre '76. The Outstanding Recent Graduate Award winners were Perry Keller, RTA '90 and Keith Kocho, RTA '90.
Included in the file are programs, a photograph of the first winners, tickets, posters, and a mock-up board showing what the wall of fame would look like.

2002 ceremony

File contains programmes and invitations for the ceremony held at the Four Seasons Hotel. Alumni Award of Distinction honourees were: Mark Benadiba, Business Administration '76; Frieder Hochheim, Photographic Arts '77; Lawrence Karlson, Instrument Technology '63'; Jane Langdon, Home Economics '75; karin lawson, Journalism '53; Robert J. Sawyer, RTA '82; William Stone, Hotel, Resort, and Restaurant Administration '83; Jim Thompson, RTA '66; and William R. Turner, Business Administration '66. The Isadore Sharp Outstanding Recent Graduate Award was given to Anne Hung, Fashion '95.

2010 ceremony

File contains a programme and an invitation for the Thursday September 30, 2010 ceremony held in the George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre.
Alumni Award of Distinction recipients were: Hala Bissade, HTM '91; Tony Guglietti, Mechanichal Engineering '65; Alan Hamel, RTA '54; Luigi Santaguida, Laboratory Sciences '87; Scott White, Journalism '79. The Isadore Sharp Outstanding Recent Graduate award recipients was Che Kothari, Image Arts '05. The Outstanding Alumni Volunteer Award winners were the Executives of Rho Alpha Kappa.

2014 ceremony

File contains programmes and invitations for the Thursday February 13, 2014 ceremony held in the George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre.
Alumni Award of Distinction recipients were: Marci Ien, RTA '91; Patrick O'Hanlon, Urban and Regional Planning '83; John Saunders, Psychology '77; and Nicole Winstanley, Publishing '00. The Isadore Sharp Outstanding Recent Graduate award recipients was Lekan Olawoye, Social Work '07. The Outstanding Alumni Volunteer Award winner was Maurizio Rogato, Urban and Regional Planning '02. The Outstanding International Alumni Award was given to Teriano Lasancha, Social Work '12.

Convocation, 1998

File contains programs and other associated materials for the Spring and Fall convocations, and master planning binder for Convocation 1998.

Charitable Campaigns

This file contains promotional material to fund raise for charities, primarily the United Way, but also Cancer Society, Ryerson awards, bursaries, and scholarships.

Series contains photographs taken by Ryerson's staff photographers of various events, and for brochures, and other promotional materials.

Internet Radio Station - launch

Melinda Rogers (daughter of Ted Rogers) and Mark Banbury (instructor RTA) launches the 24-hour internet radio station, SPIRIT. The SPIRIT Launch took place on Thursday January 23, 1997, 11:50 am - 12:30 p.m. People in attendance was Jerry Good, Linda Rogers, Claude Lajeunesse, Ira Levine, Robert Gardner and J.Lyman Potts. Picture of Melinda Rogers and Mark Banbury appeared in Forum, February 7, 1997, vol.22 no.7

Fundraising - ECE faculty

Faculty members June Pollard and Kenise Kilbride take on the initiative to raise money for the Early Childhood Education initatives along with three of Ryerson's 30 student Telemail callers - Vanessa Thomas, Joachim Vallentin and Garry McClean. A page (pg.13) from Forum, January 17, 1997 entitled "Student aid endowment tops $500,000; gov't will match pledges up to March 31.

Roberta Bondar -CIBC donation

A $500.000 donation from CIBC to Roberta Bondar to continue her research work at University of Western Ontario and Ryerson. A picture of Claude Lajeunesse, Ted Garrad (Western), Roberta Bondar and Holger Kluge (president of CIBC) at the announcement. From Forum Sept. 27, 1996 pg. 3 "CIBC donation boosts Bondar research".

Baskeball - Raptors Youth Clinic

Leo Rautins and Damon Stoudamire hosts a free youth basketball clinic in West Kerr Hall Gymnasiim for children ages 7-15. Their focus is to try and teach the kids to stay in school and stay away from drugs. Speedy Mufflier King Inc. and Toronto Raptors Basketball Club Inc. are partners in this free clinic. From Forum Sept. 12, 1997 a picture of Damon Stoudamire presenting a basketball to one of the 700 children attending the free youth basketball clinic.
