Wood box has sliding lid and is covered with patterned brown paper. Nine of the glass slides are painted with scenes of children engaged in play and work, and one includes the phrase "Good Night." Three slides have been painted with four vignetted cityscapes each. All of the slides are edged with orange tape.

Item is a photographic enlarger consisting of nine parts; a metal base, two shafts, one bellows/negative holder assembly with red filter, lens assembly, lamp with cord, and three cardbooard negative guides. Cast into the vertical assembly are the words: "Fotolarger, Testrite, N.Y." On the negative holder, there is a metal plate printed with the CSA logo, and "Fotolarger, use #211 lamp 75 W 110-115 V, Testrite Instrument Co., Inc., New York, N. Y. -- made in U.S.A."

Tru-Vue viewer

Binocular viewer is brown plastic, with black metal slide at the bottom for reel advancement. The eye pieces are fitted with transparent lenses for viewing images against translucent plastic backs--these allow ambient light to illuminate the images from behind. Molded into the body of the viewer is "TRU-VUE, ROCK ISLAND ILL, MADE IN U.S.A., U.S. PAT. 90564", and "INSERT FILM THIS END" (left side). The two-piece cardboard box has a silver top printed with the Tru-Vue logo in black, and a black bottom printed with "Tru-Vue Inc., Pictures With Depth, Rock Island, Illinois, printed and made in U.S.A." in silver.

Imprinted on the red filter metal holder is "Rolleifilter - hellrot, 999283." Imprinted on the front of the brown plastic case is "OMAG" and on the back is "3459, SWITZERLAND."

Brown leather case has a metal snap and is stamped on the front with "Rollei F&H", and on the back with "GERMANY." The small clear glass filter is printed with "Carl Zeiss Jena, Proxar 1, Nr. 585040." The large clear glass lens is printed with "Carl Zeiss Jena, Proxar 1, Nr. 573601." A card identifies the lenses by name and number in German, French, and English: "These Proxars are so adjusted to each other that, when attached to objectives having exactly the same foci, they again give uniform foci and thus also bring about the same alterations in extension for focusing to various distances."

Item consists of two photographs of a baby in a white dress sleeping in a bed. The baby is propped up on some pillows in a single bed. These appear to be the same photograph printed twice at different exposures.

[Little Girl in Baby Carriage]

Item consists of two black and white photographs of a little girl popping out of a baby carriage. In one photograph, the little girl is looking up, and in the other photograph she is looking out. The carriage is parked in the front or back of a house. There is ivy covering the house. There is a 0.5 cm white border surrounding the image. The back of both photographs are stamped in black ink "532C".

Item consists of a black and white photograph of 3 older women and 2 older men sitting on the porch of a cabin in a field. The cabin is small and wooden, with one window on the side of the cabin. The men are sitting on chairs on the front porch. One is wearing a tie and the other is wearing a vest and tie. The women are sitting below them on the steps of the front porch, and are all wearing dresses. There is a uneven white border around the image. The back of the photograph is stamped in red on the bottom right with some illegible numbers.

Crescent Beach July 10 / 15

Item consists of a black and white photograph of three women and four young girls sitting on the truck of a felled tree on a rocky beach. The women and girls are wearing dresses and looking at the camera. Behind them is a wooden building and a wooden deck, and in the background is a tree forest. There is a slight light leak from the bottom left. Handwritten to the right of the negative, and printed onto the print is "Crescent Beach July 10 / 15". There is a small 0.25 cm white border around the image.

Item consists of a sepiatoned black and white photograph of some men fishing in a light coloured canoe. The canoe is in a lake, and behind the canoe in the background are many trees. There are three men in the boat. The young man on the left side of the frame is wearing a cardigan and holding a pair of binoculars. The two other men are older, wearing suits and hats, and holding fishing rods. All three men are looking at the camera. There is a 0.4 cm white border around the image. On the back of the photograph, stamped in blue is " 1 433".

Item consists of 15 black and white photographs. The photographs are of two young men engaging in different sports. According to the handwritten captions on the back of the photographs, two of these men are Jerry Sachs and Al Corbett. The photographs show the men posing in different athletic uniforms. Boxing, baseball and basketball are some of the sports the men are engaging in.

Item consists of a black and white photograph of a woman sitting beside a baby on some grass. Beside them is a wicker chair with a light coloured pillow and a wicker baby carriage. They appear to be sitting in the back yard of a home. There is an uneven white border surrounding the image. On the back of the photograph is handwritten "August 9th 1914".

Item consists of a black and white photograph of two teenage boys in boxing apparel. The boy on the left is wearing shorts, a tank top and shoes. His head is shaved and his arms are crossed. The boy on the right is wearing shorts, boxing gloves and shoes. They both have a wide stance and are looking at the camera.

Item consists of two black and white photographs of a girl standing in a garden. The girl is wearing a light coloured shirt, skirt, cape and hat. In one photograph, she is wearing the hat, and in the other she is holding it. She is standing in the grass and looking at the camera. A 1 cm white border surrounds the images. On the back of each photograph is handwritten "July 7 / 31".

Item consists of two black and white photographs of a baby in a wicker pram. The baby is bundled in white blankets and pillows and is wearing a hat and hood. The pram is indoors next to a large window. There are houseplants and a fern by the pram.

[Two Men and Their Horses]

Item consists of a black and white photograph of two men and two horses. The men are wearing hats, suspenders and boots, and are each holding a lead to a horse. The horses are brown with some white spots. They are standing in front of a building made of stone and wood, which appears to be a stable of sorts. The ground is dirt and rocks. The focus is sharp on the horses, but not much else. There is a 0.5 cm white border around the image.

Une Voyage Commence

Item consists of a toned black and white photograph of a group of men and women on a sailboat. Five women dressed in long skirts and three men in turtlenecks or ties stand and sit on one end of the boat, posing for the photographer. In the foreground, a boy is turned away from the camera, looking at the group. He is wearing a hat and has his sleeves rolled up. The boat seems to tilt sharply to the left. On the back of the photograph is handwritten in pen "Une Voyage Commence" which is French, and translates to "a trip / journey begins".

The collection consists of more than 800 items featuring the image of Vladimir Ilych Lenin, the founder of the Soviet Union. There is a variety of media, including paper, textile, bronze, alloy, gold, clay, wood, porcelain, stone as well as books, posters, postcards, and 35mm black and white film. The collection was assembled between 1989 and 2003 in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Vilnius and Kaliningrad. The items in the collection have been arranged in the following series: Documentary Films, Posters, Postcards, Books and Periodicals, Records, Pins, Bookplates, Paintings, Rugs and Embroidery, Postage Stamps, Notes, Coins and Commemorative Medals, Sculptures, Reliefs, Flags.

Best Young Pioneers/October Musical Group banner

Rectangular red nylon banner with yellow tassels and hanger with gold writing and crests on front an back. Crest includes imagery of hammer and sickle, star, horns (musical instruments), three flames and wheat. On recto, the Young Pioneers logo featuring Lenin's portrait and its slogan, Always Ready!, is featured at the top with horns. In the centre, it reads: Best October (adj.) group! Beneath it is a drum, drumsticks, laurels, stripes and horns. On verso, in the centre it reads: The pioneer, who fights for the cause of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union be ready! Young Pioneers banner

Small red banner, with yellow tassels on three sides and yellow writing, shows the emblem of the Young Pioneer organization of the Soviet Union. The star with flames behind it and Vladimir Illyich Lenin's face in centre is the symbol for the mass youth organization of the USSR for children of age 10-15 in the Soviet Union between 1922 and 1991: Komsomol. One of the flags has a tag still attached, with Russian text. One of the flags has hand written numbers on it indicating its price. The banners read: To fight for the cause of the Communist party of the Soviet Union. In two places, on the emblem and beneath it, the banners reads: Be ready!

Triangular red banner with yellow writing and stitching, and a cord for hanging shows the emblem of the Young Pioneer organization of the Soviet Union, which is a star with flames behind it and Vladimir Illyich Lenin's face in the centre. White tag still attached to banner. Tassle on bottom point of upside-down triangle. Recto reads: Always ready! Be ready! It was produced in Moscow.

The film contains many photographs of V. I. Lenin at different points in his life, and it has detailed information of Lenin's life and work from childhood to his last days. The first part of the film shows significant places in Lenin's childhood in Ulyanovsk, including his family home. The film also documents locations in St. Petersburg (night panorama), Kazan city, the Kremlin, Kokushkino village, burlaks on the Volga river, Samara city, and footage of ordinary farmers working the fields. Part two opens with the poor district of St. Petersburg where Lenin moved, photographs of leading workers of the St. Petersburg revolutionary movement, and the police cell where Lenin spent 14 months before transfer to the village of Shushenskoye, where he was briefly exiled from 1897-1900. The film discusses and displays original writings of Lenin, inlcuding his published books "The Development of Capitalism in Russia", "What Is to Be Done?", and "April Theses". There is also footage of the building that housed the fist Russian revolutionary newspaper Iskra(=Spark), with photos of the agents of the newspaper: Nikolai Bauman, Ivan Babushkin, Mikhail Kalinin, Elena Stasova, Dmitri Ulyanov Maxim Litvinov, Natalya Zemlyachko, Anna Ulyanova-Elizarova, Maria Ulyanova. Part three begins with the rebellion at Potemkin and shows places where Lenin lived abroad, including Geneva and Paris, followed by images of the building in Prague where the sixth All Russian Congress took place. There are also images of the building where the 1st issue of Pravda(=Truth), the leading Soviet newspaper from 1912-1991, was published. Images of Bloody Sunday are displayed, and images of events following the first World War in 1914 include Lenin's role in revolution of 1917, the arrest of Tsar Nicolas II and the destruction of royal symbols in Russia. The film mentions an assassination attempt on Lenin's life. Facts about the transition to Soviet government are introduced, addressing the very difficult conditions in a new country together with Civil War and the first World War. Film has footage of Lenin's speech from a balcony of the Mossoviet building about the necessity of military education for Soviet people. Then the film recounts of last months of Lenin's life and his death, concluding with praise for Lenin's politics, his genius and the present Soviet supremacy.

Item consists of a red card with image of Lenin in black, as well as black Russian text. Interior bears Lithuanian and Russian text and signatures. Exterior reads: Invitation. It is address to Mr. Comrade H. Puskunigiui. Interior reads: "The Communist Party of Lithuania Vilnius City Committee and Municipal People's Deputies Executive Committee invites you to attend a solemn ceremonial for the Soviet government foundation in Lithuania and the Lithuanian Communist Party 60th anniversary, which will be held on the 15th of December 1978 in Lenin Square. It starts at 11am." The invitation was issued and signed by Agricultural Construction Design Institute Director B. Rilys, party secretary A. Loda, local trade union chair J. Girdzius and Komsomol secretary A. Liksa.

The image depicts Lenin and Stalin shaking hands at the bank of a river, while a man waits beside them in a rowboat. The date on the verso reads "1953 March." Beneath the date there is more writing and one of the words translates as "east."

Series consists of lapel pins, many used to designate membership in a club like the Little Octoberists or Young Pioneers. Many are duplicates.

Plastic "Little Octobrists" pins

Red transluscent plastic pins, star-shaped with a circle in the middle. The face of a young Lenin is depicted in the circle in the form of a print on paper, with plastic covering and metal framing ring. There is a metal pin clasp attached to the back. The back of the plastic is marked with a star/'H' symbol.

Object is a poster, 1 with foam core backing, 2 unmounted. Image depricts a drawing of Vladimir Illyich Lenin with red text, surround by armies of men, and soldiers saluting. Coloured in brown and red. Hook to hang poster on verso. It reads, "From the workers' detachments, revolutionary detachments, the first Red Guard regiments growing might of our army. 23 February, 1918."

Large poster enveloped in plastic wrap with foam core backing shows image of Vladimir Illyich Lenin looking stern with fist raised, on red background with white highlights and writing. Hook to hang poster on verso. It reads, "Soviet power is the way to socialism, found in masses of workers and therefore - faithful and therefore - invincible." Lenin is holding the Soviet newspaper Pravda in his hand. The editor was A. Gromov, the artistic editor was A. Pastukhov and the technical editor was T. Onosovskaya.

Ten loosely rolled posters with the same photographic portrait of Lenin. Two posters have been removed to Box LN22 because of their small size. Beneath Lenin's portrait reads: V. I. Lenin. The photographer was P. A. Otsupa. It was produced in Moscow.
