Intercollegiate team photographs

Binder of Ryerson Intercollegiate team photographs from 1998 onwards. No dates on photographs to indicate which years they were taken. Teams included are men's and women's hockey, badminton, soccer, volleyball, swimming, racquet ball, figure skating, and fencing.

Eggy (mascot costume)

File contains photographs of Eggy (costumed mascot) in various places and at various events including a women's basketball game, women's soccer game, in the Kerr Hall gym, at convocation, and with children from the Early Learning Centre.

York University

File contains photographs from two different games in the Ryerson Kerr Hall gymnasium - Ryerson Rams women's basketball team vs York University. One game was held in January 2004, and the second is undated.

McGill University

File contains photographs from three [?] different games held in the Kerr Hall gymnasium - Ryerson Rams women's basketball team vs The McGill Redmen. The majority of the photographs were taken at one game, with Ryerson in gold uniforms. The negatives don't seem to match up with the prints or slides.

Concordia University

File contains photographic prints of four games featuring the Ryerson Rams women's basketball team against the Concordia University Stingers. All games took place in the Kerr Hall Gym. File also contains negatives. Unclear as to whether or not they coincide with the prints or are of another game(s) entirely.

Men's Interuniversity basketball team

Files containing photographs taken at various Ryerson Ram's men's basketball games. Opposing teams include Laurentian, York, Carleton, McGill, Brock, and Universite Laval.

Carleton University

File contains photographs of the Ryerson Rams men's basketball team against the Carleton University Ravens. Game took place in the Kerr Hall gymnasium.

Photographic display materials

Series contains various foam cores that were generated and used in displays featuring Ryerson archival material. Series also contains plaques of enlargements of The Ryersonian newspaper.

Colour composite photographs for the graduating classes from all programs at Ryerson.
Some oversized images have been stored separately from the rest.
There are no graduation composites for the 2019-2020 school year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Food and Hotel Administration 1st Year Students with Faculty and Staff photograph

An 8 x 10 black and white photograph of first year students in the Food Administration & Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Administration programs. Also in the photo are faculty and staff members, including the Director, Gladys Dobson. A number of individuals signed their names on the back of the print.

[Photographs from a Kodak No. 1 camera]

Item consists of twelve snapshots taken with the Kodak No. 1, the first rollfilm camera under the name "Kodak". Subjects include a house in a forest, a group of women posing in front of the house, a man walking by the house, cows, and men playing cricket or baseball. The images are round on a white background with a black border and gold gilded edges. On the back of one photograph is handwritten in pen "Set 2.00" on a piece of masking tape.

First visit to Canada

Item is a photograph of a building and two blurry figures in foreground. Inscription in black ink on back of photograph reads, 'First visit to Canada and (illegible) of Edward Prince of Wales, 1919.', written over illegible inscription in pencil.

Big Bird 3D camera viewer

Item is a blue plastic camera shaped three-dimensional viewer. The 3D viewer has a built-in reel of 7 diametrical, 16 mm colour transparencies of Sesame Street characters teaching the alphabet. Unlike traditional View-Masters, this reel cannot be removed. A small Big Bird with his own camera sits on top of the body of the viewer. This object was designed for children's entertainment and education. A orange push down button on the front of the camera is used to switch scenes. Written on the front of the camera is the Sesame Street Logo.

Sawyer's View-Master Stereo Viewer (model C)

Item is a handheld plastic black Model C View-Master manufactured by Sawyer's Inc. from the mid-1940's to mid-1950's. This model was the first of its kind to have a slot for reels to be placed in for viewing. The metal lever on the side of the viewer will rotate the reel one frame at a time once pressed. First, reels are inserted through the top of the viewer. Next, the user would look through binocular eye holes to see a three-dimensional image. View-Master can be used with ambient light. Later Model C editions came with an attachable bulb. The object comes with Royal Canadian Mountain Police sticker.

Tru-Vue viewer box set (Tru-Vue company)

Item is a brown plastic 3D viewer built with a push-down lever between the lenses. The lever is designed to rotate a reel containing three-dimensional black and white 35 mm acetate film manufactured by Tru-Vue Company. Images are inserted through the slot on the left side of the lenses. Item comes with square plastic windows to illuminate backs of transparencies on view. Once the film is circulated, it rewinds itself on the right hand side of the viewer. Item comes in original box with 4 original films depicting Pikes Peak Region and Depth Photography. Item also comes with instructions on how to use the Tru-Vue set and an additional business reply card with more instructions for the camera.

Keystone Ophthalmic Telebinocular Viewer

Item is an Ophthalmic Telebinocular Viewer manufactured by Keystone View Co., for use in optometry for vision testing. To be used with Keystone stereoscopic target slides. Item includes metal box, with two stereoscopic photographs of the Grand Canyon. Engraved on object: "Keystone View Co. Meadville. PA. USA. Patented No.1.703.787"
