RU Ryerson student video contest

RU Ryerson inaugural video contest occured in 2009. The idea behind the contest was initiated by President Sheldon Levy after he saw a similar contest at Waterloo University. The contest was student run with support from the President's office - donating the prize money for the top three videos.

This file consists of textual records and DVD from the 2009 and 2010 iteration of the RU Ryerson contest.

Proposal and reports to organizational reform going into the 1980s

Ryerson's Board of Governors engaged Hickling-Johnston Limited in April 1979 to recommend an appropriate overall organizational structure enabling Ryerson to operate successfully in the 1980s.

Principal's Convocation gown

File consists of a purple gown with blue velvet trim and gold embossed trim. Photographic evidence suggests that this gown was worn at convocation ceremonies by Principal/President Fred Jorgenson, President Donald Mordell and President Walter Pitman during the mid to late 1960s until the later 1970s.

President's office purchasing files

File contains the President's office purchasing files. It includes invoices, correspondence, purchase orders, purchase requisitions, rental orders, delivery slips, and memorandums.

President's newsletter

The President's Newsletter, issued bi-annually, Spring and Fall, discussed updates and noteworthly events related to the school and faculty in a hardcopy format. It was discontinued as of October 19th, 2009 and replaced with the wholly digital, Ryerson Today.

President's celebration notices

File contains invitations extended to the Ryerson community or to faculty and staff to celebrate a noteworthy event. This primarily includes the Annual Holiday Celebration for the whole community.

President's Development Task Force

The President's Development Task Force was announced in December, 1975 by President Walter Pitman. Pitman declared that a series of task forces was necessary to develop "a whole battery of academic activities which would have positive financial implications for Ryerson while enabling us to serve society more fully. We also hope that this planning will help to convince the government that more generous funding should be forthcoming."Individual task forces under the umbrella Development Task Force include the following (numbers indicate collection record numbers for each task force, as arranged under the President's Office Group):

President Sheldon Levy Installation dvd

A DVD of the installation ceremony of President Sheldon Levy on November 2, 2005. The original master was produced by the School of Radio and Television Arts. This transfer to DVD was created by the Digital Media Projects Office (John Hajdu). See the accession documentation for further details.
