Annual fund pre-show meet and greet

File contain images of the Annual Fund thank you cocktail reception held in the Olive Baker Lounge located in the Podium building. The reception was held before the Ryerson Theatre School production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum".

Campaign launch reception

File contains photographs taken at a University Advancement campaign launch. People in the photographs include then Chancellor G. Campus engravings

File contains photographs of the various bas reliefs and sculptures that adorn Howard Kerr Hall. Included are photographs of "The Graduate" and "The Hockey Player" by sculptor Jacobine Jones. Also included are photographs of bas reliefs that adorn the south and east exterior walls of the building, done by sculptor Dora de Pedery-Hunt.

CJRT - Continuing Education building

File contains photographs of the CJRT or Continuing Education building (now known as Heaslip House) at 297 Victoria Street. Images are of the original building - before the renovations took place. Photograph of the sculpture over the door was used in the March 2003 edition of the FORUM.

Raymond Chang donation reception

File contains photographs of the reception for G. Raymond Chang, member of Ryerson's Board of Governors at the time. Reception held to celebrate his donation of $5 million dollars to the University's Continuing Education school. School re-named the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education as part of this donation. Raymond Chang is pictured with various people as well as being photographed with the Ryerson Chair, which is given to donors by the University. Chair was designed by a Ryerson student. Image of Raymond Chang seated in the chair was published in the February 2004 edition of the FORUM.

Chinese delegation

File contains photographs taken of a delegation of visitors from China to Ryerson. Photographs taken in the Board room on the 14th floor of Jorgenson Hall. Featured in the photographs are Ryerson President Sheldon Levy and then Dean of Engineering, Architecture, and Science Stalin Boctor. No indication on the photographs of the purpose of the delegations visit.

Christmas sing-a-long

File contains photographs taken during the annual Christmas carol sing-a-long that takes place in the lobby of Jorgenson Hall. Pictured is someone dressed as Santa Claus as well as faculty, staff, and community members.

File contains photographs taken during the $12.5 million dollar cheque presentation by former Minister of Training, Colleges, and Universities Dianne Cunningham to Ryerson. One of the pictures was published in FORUM in the July 2003 edition.

Eaton donation

File contains photographs taken during the signing and reception for John Craig and Sally Horsfall Eaton's $1.5 million donation to Ryerson. Donation culminated in the naming of the Sally Horsfall Eaton Centre for Studies in Community Health - an addition added to the existing Palin Hall located on Gerrard Street. Included in the pictures are then Ryerson Chancellor John Craig Eaton, Sally Horsfall Eaton, then president Claude Lajeunesse, Ron Besse, V.P. University Advancement Adam Kahan, then V.P. Administration and Finance Linda Grayson, and then dean of Community Services Judith Sandys. One image published in the October 2001 edition of the FORUM.

Holiday card - winter scenes

File contains photographs taken of the Ryerson Campus in winter and of assorted holiday props for the University holiday card. Photographs were taken in 1995, 1999, and 2000 and were taken by various photographers. Included are pictures of the Kerr Hall clock tower, the Quad, the Normal School facade, the Rogers Communication Centre, and Oakham house. Many of the images were used in a holiday card sent out by the University. One of the images of the Kerr Hall clock tower was published in the December 8 1997 edition of the forum.

PEBBLES and Wayne Gretzky at The Bay

File contains photographs taken at The Bay's launch of the Wayne Gretzky fashion collection and its support of PEBBLES (Providing education by bringing learning environments to students). PEBBLES was designed by Ryerson's Centre for Learning Technologies, Telbotics Inc., and the Adaptive Technology Resource Centre at the University of Toronto. It was a video teleconferencing unit that could connect hospitalized children with the classroom. $1 from every clothing purchase would be donated to PEBBLES. Featured in the photographs are then president Claude Lajeunesse, Wayne Gretzky, his wife Janet Jones, and Ryerson professor Deborah Fels. Pictures from the file were printed in the October 5, 1998 edition of the FORUM. Included in the file are brochures about PEBBLES, a press kit about the launch, and advertisements for the Wayne Gretzky collection.

Eugene Polistuk presentation

File contains photographs of Celestica chairman and CEO Eugene Polistuk. Also included in the photographs are Claude Lajeunesse and various images of the presentation. Polistuk received an honourary doctorate in engineering from Ryerson in 2001.

Rogers inaugural fellowship winners

File contains photographs taken of the inaugural winners of the Rogers fellowships from the School of Communication and Culture. The fellowships are awarded to graduate students in the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Graduate School for Advanced Communications of which Communication and Culture is the first program in this new school. Shown in the photographs are Ted, Loretta, and Melinda Rogers; fellowship winners Alison Powell, Susan Aitken, Emma Aiken, and Julie Gustavel; and Ryerson president Claude Lajeunesse. 60th Anniversary Alumni Magazine Insert

The magazine insert - in the January mailing of the Alumni Magazine contains many photographs from the archives collections. Archives staff worked closely with Magazine staff - which included weeks of work finding and pulling photographs to be included in the print and online editions of the magazine and timeline.

File contains photographs taken during the Young Professional Board of Trade dinner. They include photographs of speeches and group shots of members.

Bridge building

File contains photographs of Ryerson's annual Civil Engineering bridge building competition. Included are images of various bridges made from popsicle sticks being tested for strength. Also included in the photographs are shots of the big cheque won by a Ryerson team last year in the national Troitsky bridge building competition at Concordia University.

Bridge busting

File contains photographs taken at the annual Civil Engineering bridge building competition. Included are images of bridge construction and demolition. Winners of this competition get to travel to Concordia University in Montreal and participate in the Troitsky bridge building competition. One of the photographs was published in the FORUM in March 2002.

Canada Foundation for Innovation cheque presentation

File contains photographs taken at the awards ceremony for an essay writing competition sponsored jointly by Public Affairs and the Office of Research Services. Photographs include group photos of all the essay writers, with some being recognized for winning essays by then Ryerson President Claude Lajeunesse. Photograph of competition winner Jacob Levman with Claude Lajeunesse was published in the July 2003 edition of the "FORUM". Jacob Levman was a Masters student in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

December 6 memorial display - Paper Prayers

File contains photographs taken of the "paper prayers" display as part of the December 6th memorial. Display occurred in the Olive Baker lounge in the Podium building. Members of the Ryerson community were encouraged to submit their thoughts on violence, a prayer, a poem, a remembrance of a victim of violence or empowering words and they would be put on display.
