Wilde '82: History Conference, Toronto, June 30-July 3

This file contains information about the Oscar Wilde conference, including a letter to participants, program, and 3 posters. Wilde 1982 was the Lesbian and Gay History Conference, held at Ryerson on June 30-July 3, 1982. The event was co-sponsored by the Canadian Gay Archives and Doing It! Gay Liberation in the '80's.

Wild T4 Universal Theodolite Instrument

This instrument was used for angular measurements of the highest accuracy and astronomic-geodetic observations, providing a high resolving power and brilliant image, at 60x and 80x magnification. Its specific applications included: First Order Triangulation; Primary Control by Distances; Geographical Determinations (azimuth, latitude, longitude); Determination of the Deviation of the Vertical by Astronomical Observations; and as a Stationary Instrument in Observatories. Manufactured by the Wild Heerbrugg Ltd. company of Switzerland (Dr. Heinrich Wild brought his revolutionary ideas into the scope of astronomic-geodetic measurements), the Wild T4 was purchased by Ryerson’s Civil Engineering Department around 1968.

What's Happening Around Ryerson / On Campus This Week

This circular provided the Ryerson Community with information on day-to-day events taking place on Campus. From 1971 to April 1977, the publication was called "What's Happening Around Ryerson" with the name changing to "On Campus This Week" on the September 2, 1977 issue. "On Campus This Week" was last published in 1986. As an alternative, a number of departments agreed to pool their resources to sponsor, on a non-profit basis, a weekly full-page listing of campus events in the student newspaper, THE EYEOPENER.
