Kodak product packaging

File contains packaging for Kodak photofinishing--including envelopes for mail-order processing and developed negatives--from roughly 1907 to 1997. File also includes product packaging and instructions for Canadian Kodak's Azo developing paper from between 1909 and 1911. Azo is a silver chloride contact printing paper originally produced by Photo Materials Company of Rochester, NY. This latter company was purchased by Kodak in 1898, which then began producing and distributing Azo paper under its own name.

The original name of the publication was Studio Light and the Aristo Eagle. The name was changed to Studio Light in February, 1910.

Documents include: drafts of advertising copy and dialogue; graphic mock-ups and storyboards; market testing documents; notes and correspondence; and cost invoices. Most records were created by Canadian firm Baker Lovick Advertising between 1975 and 1977, but file also contains advertising copy from J. Walter Thompson of New York and promotional material from Toronto-based firm Rostrum International Inc. soliciting business from Kodak for its digital communications services.

File consists of overhead transparencies and paper copies of notes from internal presentations delivered between 1991 and 1999 in English and French. Much of the file consists of Kodak Canada's Talking Points/Point de Vue initiative, an internal communication system designed to quickly disseminate information throughout the organization. File also includes notes for regional visits, notes and transpariencies for an Image Check meeting from January 20, 1995 and an SGM IS managers meeting from April 26, 1995, and other materials. File contains documents related to Kodak staff involvment in the First World War. Includes newspaper clippings from the Toronto Star Weekly of July 17, 1916 detailing the use of building 5 of Kodak Heights as barracks for the 127th battalion, with an accompanying list detailing the names of officers pictured. Also included is a photocopied letter to then-general manager of Canadian Kodak, John G. Palmer, from an officer of the 2nd Battalion regarding the transfer of J[ames] W. Spence from England to France. Spence was an active executive member of Canadian Kodak Co., Ltd., eventually acting as chairman of the board from 1955-1957.

Eastman Kodak repair parts lists and repair service information

File consists of three 3-ring binders, created between 1929 and 1943, containing detailed, illustrated instructions and equipment lists designed to serve as reference material for those responsible for repairing Kodak still and motion picture cameras. Information contained within the binders was created and distributed on a subscription basis by Eastman Kodak Company. Subscribers would receive periodic updates of information, which could be added to the binders over time.
