Theatre School/School of Performance productions

File contains programs, invitations, notices, news releases, photographs, brochures and tickets for productions performed by the Theatre School/School of Performance 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students. In the 1970s-mid 1980s the 4th year students were referred to as the Ryerson Theatre Company. You can learn more about them and their productions by looking at RG 158.13.

Ryerson Community Park

Various photos of planning and construction of Community Park (1978) and Devion Square (1984). Several photos of Hod Meech (Devonian Foundation), Walter Pitman, Steve Moorhead and George Hume during several meetings in 1977. Photos of the Bird of Spring with its creator, Abraham Etungat (1977). In the second folder there is a picture of Gould Street during a TTC strike (1978) and many pictures of the official opening of Ryerson Community Park, Oct.13/78. Earlier that year in May, construction of the Quad was taking place.

Palin Hall Dedication materials

Also in book are 2 copies of the FORUM newsletter, and a letter regarding the transfer of the name Eric Palin Hall from 63 Gould St to 87 Gerrard St. East. The file also contains a sign on the dedication of Eric Palin Hall on February 9, 1979.

SumQuest materials

File contains materials related to SumQuest software, a retail marketing and sales research tool. The program was created by Ross Macnaughton, a professor in the Centre for Advanced Technology Education. Included are 2 brochures, 2 envelopes, 2 letterhead, and 1 business card.

This file contains memorandum, Employment Equity Count me in! Ryerson Employment Equity Census, RPU questions and Answers -The Workforce Survey. Ryerson was conducting a census of all employees, in compliance with Ontario's employment equity legislation.

Annual student awards ceremony programmes

Real Estate Educational Program

File contains calendars, brochures and related materials for the Real Estate Educational Program run through the Managment Development Institute. Program run with the Ontario Real Estate Association and in co-operation with the Real Estate Institute of Canada. After dissolution of MDI, the program continued to run through the Continuing Education division.

Guest registers

Registers used by the Archives to record visitors and researchers. Although the Archives was established in 1971 a register was not initiated until April 1972. The initial register was previously used to record guests at two separate events at Ryerson : Tenth Anniversary Banquet, February 20, 1959; and the Founders' Dinner, February 12, 1965.

Canadian Kodakery : a publication for the men and women of Kodak in Canada / Canadian Kodak Co., Ltd.

Running from 1955 to 1975, Canadian Kodakery was a monthly Kodak Canada publication designed to communicate the activities of employees at Kodak Heights in Toronto, Ontario. The publicaton succeeded the magazine Kodak. The newer publication included a larger format than its predecessor, as well as new features. Collection includes vol. 1, no. 1 (Sept. 1955) to vol. 20, no. 6 (Aug./Sept 1975).

The full lineage of internal publications for Kodak Canada employees ran as follows: At Kodak Heights was succeeded by Kodak in 1936. In 1955, the name was changed to Canadian Kodakery. In 1975, the name was changed again to Kodak Canada News. In 1986, this publication was succeeded by In Focus; and in 1994, the name changed to its final title, Kodakery Canada.

Hospitality Management Development Programme/Hospitality and Tourism Management Development seminar program

The Hospitality Management Development program began in 1982 when Ryerson began offering seminars based on restaurant and hotel simulation games. The seminars are led by industry leaders and academics. Included in the file is a brochure for the May 5-7 and May 12-14, 1983 Restaurant Management game seminar; two brochures for the 1985 Hospitality Management Development Programme seminars held from January to March of that year; and one folder with details about the Hospitality and Tourism Management Development seminar program held between March and November of 1986.

Analytical balance

This balance was used in the Concrete Material Analysis Laboratory of the School of Civil Engineering to measure fine samples of particles used in Mix-Designs. It was manufactured in 1959 by Seederer-Kohlbusch of Englewood, N.J. Capacity: 200g. Sensitivity: 0.1g. Historical synopsis of manufacturer in sub-series folder. The same model was used in the Chemistry Department - see image, RG 95.01.12.14.06.
