Theatrical Space from the Stone Age to the Space Age

File contains 2 copies of the paper "Theatrical Space from the Stone Age to the Space Age" that was presented at the International Conference of Theatre and Television September 1 - 7 Hilversum, The Netherlands. The conference was sponsered by the International Federation for Theatre Research in co-operation with NOS Dutch Broadcasting Corporation. Included with the paper are a CD and slides of photographs referenced in the paper. The paper was later published in the conference proceedings.
Also in the file is correspondence, photographs, souvenir postcards, conference program, and other materials related to the Hilversum conference.

Towards an Interactive Performance Calendar Database

File contains one copy of the paper "Towards and Interactive Performance Calendar Database". This paper is based on Robert Scott's Ph.D thesis that developed a daily theatrical calendar of performances by professional theatre companies in 28 Ontario town and citites between 1914-1967. The paper was presented at the 12th annual World Congress of the International Federation for Theatre Research: New Directions in Theatre Research. The conference was held in Stockholm, Sweden May 29-June 4, 1989.
Also in the file is a copy of the conference proceedings, a history guide for Storkyrkan St. Nicholas' Stockholm Cathedral, and an application for the International Federation for Theatre Research.

One pamphlet detailing Hawk-Eye cameras for sale at Gall & Lemke in Union Square. The Hawk-Eye camera was first produced by the Boston Camera Company until 1890, when the Blair Camera Company purchased the company. Eastman Kodak then purchased the Blair company in 1907, and continued to produce the popular Hawk-eye models.

Elstree, Herts." Envelope has been opened, but the developing papers and a sheet with instructions are still inside. Dates given indicate the lifespan of the company.

Premo film pack daylight loading film

White box printed with black ink for text and red ink borders, used for packaging Premo film packs for Premo film or plate cameras. Contained 12 cut celluloid negatives at 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 size, designed for daylight loading film exposures. The film packs were stored in an initially cardboard or metal frame that was placed in the back of the camera. The user pulled a paper tab to advance a fresh film into place for each exposure and move the exposed film to the back of the pack. "Each of the paper tabs, which protrude through a slot in the camera and were torn off after being used, had a number on it which acted as a basic, though perfectly efficient, exposure counter." Box is now empty of negatives, but contains two sheets of folded paper with instructions for use and processing, and one piece of folded red tissue. Torn sticker recto center top stamped "This film must be developed before July 1915." Maker is identified as Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, N.Y. and Kodak, Limited, Kingsway, London, W.C. Kodak resellers in Paris and Germany are also listed on the recto.

Agfa Commercial Orthochromatic filmpack

Filmpack produced by Agfa containing 12 cut celluloid films at 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches. In original orange cardboard packaging with blue and white lettering. Packaging has been opened. Red tissue surrounding the cardboard pack has also been opened, but black plastic film pack retains cardboard pull tabs that are typically removed when the film is exposed. Package is stamped with instructions to develop by June 1933.

Triple Print Colour Film 126 roll, 12 exposures, in original packaging. One of the boxes has been opened but the film roll is still sealed in plastic envelope and a set of instructions are included in the box. The boxes are stamped with develop-by dates of Jan and Dec 1976.

Kodachrome II colour movie film for daylight

Boxes of Kodachrome II Colour Movie Film for double 8mm roll cameras. Both films are sensitized for daylight exposures. The larger box gives directions to process before Oct. 1969, the smaller one before Nov 1972. There is a sticker on the larger box with a price from Simpson's department store: 3.99. The larger box has been opened, but still contains film and sheet of folded paper with instructions.

It is from the Chervonohradsky Park of Culture and Recreation named for T. H. Shevchenko in Ukraine. Top of recto reads a quote attributed to V. I. Lenin: ...we come to the victory of Communist labour. Beneath Lenin's portrait on recto reads: For the winner of the socialist competition.

Documentary Films series

Series consists of biographical films about Vladimir Ilyich Lenin (1870-1924), leader of the Soviet Union and father of Communism. These films were created and produced in the Russian Soviet State and reflect the ideals of the state and the popular interpretation of Lenin's life and work. The 17 film reels make up the following 4 movies: "Lenin is alive" (1969), "Lenin: pages of the biography" (1969), "Gorki Leninskie" (1984), "Lenin documents, facts, recollections" (1969). A DVD was added to the collection in 2010 that depicts the public speeches and demonstrations taking place in Vilnius, Lithuania during the dissolution of the Lithuanian Soviet State, including the tearing down of a statue of Lenin in the city centre.

Lenin note card with insert celebrating 60th Anniversary of October Revolution

Note card with gold border, bearing image of Lenin against background of large numbers that read "1917". Back cover and interior bear Russian text. Interior also bears Lithuanian text. Recto reads: "Our pathway of communism!" The inside text brings Great October Socialist Revolution holiday greetings. The insert, written in Lithuanian, is addressed to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Lithuania and the Construction of the City Economy Deputy Head H. Puskunigiui. It reads: "Sincere greetings to you on the occasion of the Jubilee of the Great October. We wish you new creative achievements at work, good health, a festive mood. TSO Republican Chair of the Association A. Baltusis" A. Baltusis' signature is beneath this message. The artwork on the recto was created by painter V. Ivanov in Moscow in 1977.

Item consists of red note cards with graphic depiction of Lenin's face on cover and Lithuanian text within. One copy has the years 1917-1977 written on the cover, but the others do not. They are addressed to Mr. Comrade H. Puskunigiui. The copy with the years 1917-1977 congratulates him and his staff on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution. Another card congratulates him and his staff on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution. Another card is an invitation to a formal sitting dedicated to the USSR State Construction Committee and construction and building materials industry workers' unions of the Central Committee of Red Flag. It was to be held at the Agricultural Construction Design Institute's Institute Hall on March 5 at 3pm.. The cards are issued and signed by Agricultural Construction Design Institute Director B. Rilys, party secretary A. Loda, local trade union chair J. Girdzius, Komsomol secretary A. Liksa.

Item consists of a red card with image of Lenin in black, as well as black Russian text. Interior bears Lithuanian and Russian text and signatures. Exterior reads: Invitation. It is address to Mr. Comrade H. Puskunigiui. Interior reads: "The Communist Party of Lithuania Vilnius City Committee and Municipal People's Deputies Executive Committee invites you to attend a solemn ceremonial for the Soviet government foundation in Lithuania and the Lithuanian Communist Party 60th anniversary, which will be held on the 15th of December 1978 in Lenin Square. It starts at 11am." The invitation was issued and signed by Agricultural Construction Design Institute Director B. Rilys, party secretary A. Loda, local trade union chair J. Girdzius and Komsomol secretary A. Liksa.

Two sets of 12 posters, each set is missing poster 10 and has a duplicate of poster 9 instead. The posters illustrate the timeline of Lenin's life, with subjects including: The Ulyanov Family, Childhood and Youth, For the Happiness of the People, Leader of the Revolution, Advisor and Comrade, The Best Fried, Creator of New Light, Ilyich and Children, and Alive (Lives) Forever. It was published in Kyiv. The authors were Tamila Semenivna Zhurbyts'ka and Nina Oleksiyivna Andrusych, designer was Mykola Arkadiyovych Uspens'kyy and the editor was N. H. Shyshkina. The head editor was V. F. Hozha, the Associate editors were Ya. A. Lemeshenko and A. V. Sabadash, the design editor was M. M. Yakushchenko, the technical editor was Z. C. Onyshchuk and the correctors were E. P. Braslavs'ka and N. S.Mytsyk.

blue, cloth-bound, hard cover albums with thick cardboard pages. Cover bears image of rocket and stamp perforated edge and reads: stamps. The pages include horizontal plastic strips to hold postage stamps in place on the pages. Each page is covered with interleaving tissue. Each album contains at least fifty Soviet postage stamps, many bearing the image of Lenin. Some depict the Ukrainian SSR.

Commemorative white porcelain plate with gold trim and writing, with image of Vladimir Illyich Lenin and the sickle and hammer, and a boat. The writing is in Old Russian, which reads: 70 decree of peace, adopted unanimously at the All-Russian Congress of Workers', Soldiers' and Peasants' Deputies 26 October 1917. It was created in the German Democratic Republic by Weimar.

Some photos have hand written comments. The title page features a quote by Lithuanian Soviet poet Vytautas Montvila: Geniuses come and disappear again, Lenin came forever.

Scrapbook about Lenin

Scrapbook with hand written text, compositioned with glued photographs of Lenin and printed text. There is a separate letter written in Russian by a pioneer dated May 20, 1970. It was written in Gera, Germany. The pioneer is grateful for the parcel and letter that they had received. They also describes their participation in the concert for Lenin's 100 anniversary, which included folk dancing, music, gymnastics and Russian poetry reciting about Lenin and the USSR. Most of the text is in German, with some Russian. The FDJ (Free German Youth) logo is featured on the last page along with Soviet and German flags.
