Theatre - dance

In this file there is a black and white photo of Ryerson Dances 1990, Judith Miller, choreographer. There is also a photo of theatre students in costume folk dancing. Folk dance and folklore prepares students to teach the dance form to children of all ages. The art of dance is taken very seriously amongst these students, as you see the hard work , preparation and attention to detail that goes into every dance move.

Theatre - technical production

Several black and white photographs of students preparing behind the scenes for a show. Illustrating how to hang and focus on theatre lights, audio operator mixing sound effects, prop mistress and set designer discussing props, wardrobe and costume fitting, and all these technical attributes for a theatre production.

Theatre School

File contains photographs of student, staff and faculty in Ryerson's Theatre School. File includes photographs of various events including classes, the Royal Academy of Dancing International Summer School (held at Ryerson in 1980), and performances of the Ryerson Theatre Company. File contains 5 pages of photocopies of photographs.

A few color negatives from the cover of the "This is Ryerson" and "Explore Ryerson" (1981-1988). The cover booklet for the Faculty of Community Services (summer 1987) "This is Ryerson 1987/88" is included. An "Explore Ryerson" poster negative (1983) , a picture of a red stop sign and red apple can be found also in this file. There are also other negatives from the Ryerson Folder (1981).

This is Ryerson publication

A series of promotional materials designed and produced in three formats: posters, booklets, and brochures. It is assumed that all three were designed and produced by the Community Relations Department (formerly Information Services), for distribution by both Community Relations and the Admissions Liaison Advising Office.

Tim Reid

His photograph was published again in Sept., 1989 when he was named President of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. At this time he resigned from Ryerson.

At this time he was Vice President of the Ryerson Staff Association (RSA) and his photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine on August 31, 1979 when he became the Acting President of the RSA. Another photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine on Nov. 9, 1979, when he was elected to Ryerson's Board of Governors.

His photograph was published in the 'FORUM' magazine Apr., 1977 when it was projected that layoffs would be made to Nursing faculty. His photograph was published in the 'FORUM' again in Sept., 1977 when he was a year away from finishing first term as Dean of Community Services. His photograph was published in the 'FORUM' again in Sept., 1980 when he was Dean of Community Services, and had produced a report for the Ontario Ministry of Education regarding polytechnic education.

Two black and white night scenes of Toronto ; one captures Yonge St., A &A and SAM the Record Man (1988) the other a moonlight background of the CN tower and the city (1990). Also four black and white photos of day scenes of the CN tower and the TTC platform at Sheppard subway (1988).

Urban and Regional Planning

Photos of Urban and Regional Planning students (1981) at work, working on projects in the planning laboratory. Also a picture of the Urban Planning Collection on the 8th floor of the library, students using the sources that are available. There is also a picture taken for the '86 brochure in front of old city hall (downtown Toronto).
