Invitation to Ball. Inscription reads, 'To have the honour of meeting His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales The Chairmen and Executive of the Citizens' Committee request the pleasure of the company of Misses Constance and Dorothy Orr at a Ball in the Windsor Hotel Montreal, on Thursday evening October the thirtieth nineteen hundred and nineteen at nine-thirty o'clock.'

Letter for $500 stipend from McGill Anatomical Department

Item is a typerwitten letter with blue text that reads, 'November 15th, 1910. Dr. A.E. Orr, Anatomical Department, Medical Building. Dear Dr. Orr, I have pleasure in informing you that at a meeting of the Board of Governors held yesterday, your stipend as Demonstrator in Biology and Embryology was increased to $500 for the current session. Yours very truly, W. Vaughan Secretary.'

The Éperon building was constructed to complement the existing historic architecture of the area, and was built to match the proportions of the Royal Insurance Company building that was previously on the site. The building matches the roof lines of the other structures on the Rue de la Commune, and the tower building (pictured) is an easily identifiable element in the museum complex.

Item is a brown cabinet card with text embossed in gold at the bottom edge, "Mad/ Ed./ Gagne/ 211 rue St. Laurent/ MONTREAL." Photograph shows a young woman with a fittend, columnar dark dress with elaborate ruffled flounce a the base and a long fur scarf. She holds a fur muff in her right hand, and rest her gloved left on the top of an elaborate metal gate. The scene appears indoors despite a blanket of grass beneath her feet. She wears a flat, straw hat.

Montreal, La Comédie-Canadienne theatre

Photographs of the renovation of the former Radio-City cinema in Montreal. It was purchased by Gratien Gélinas for La Comédie-Canadienne in 1957 and renovated by André Blouin.

La Comédie-Canadienne was active from 1958-1969. The company produced Canadian and Québecois theatre, dance and music productions. The company closed down in 1973 and its theatre became the permanent home of the of Theatre du Noveau Monde (http://www.tnm.qc.ca).
