Messages of protest at former site of Egerton Ryerson statue

File contains photographs taken on campus of spray painted messages related to Egerton Ryerson and his role in Residential Schools in Canada. The messages were created in response to the discovery of the remains of 215 children at the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School located on the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation. On June 6, 2021 after a march and rally in Toronto, the statue of Egerton Ryerson was pulled down. The plinth it sat on was later removed by the University.
The photographs were commissioned by the Office of the President and were taken after the statue was pulled down and the plinth was removed. The photographs are of the messages of protest that were spray painted and chalked on the walls of Kerr Hall, the sidewalk and road in front of where the statue was located, on the stones in Lake Devo, and on the walkways in the Kerr Hall Quadrangle. There are also photographs of the areas around where the messages were located - Gould Street and the Kerr Hall Quadrangle.

The miniature flag is a representation of the Canadian flag at the time capsule was installed. It is the British red ensign which features the Union Jack in the upper corner (the canton), while the shield of the coat of arms of Canada made it distinctly Canadian.
Ivory elephant pendant and blue ribbon fragments
The small elephant pendant is a mystery as to its relevance to Maple Leaf Gardens or the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club. The fragmented blue ribbon suggests the pendant was originally hanging from it.

Item consists of a gold edged card with a light pink base, and text in gold letterpress at the bottom edge, "A.I. Witter, Pecatonica, Ill." A long, narrow photograph gives a full length portrait of a man in a 3 piece suit all done in the same white flecked wool fabric. The coat is a little overlarge, probably a late 1860s style, and is buttoned at the top button only. He wears a striped ascot, and leans against a chair in front of a painted studio backdrop depicting a window and mantel. On the verso, a long text handwritten in pencil that indicates the sender (probably the man pictured in the card) could not come for New Year's as he had other obligations with a family called the Bowlys(?). He signs his initials "A.H." At the top left, in a different hand, "805/ 12.-".

Black stockings complete what was typically a child's dress costume known as a Fauntleroy suit. He stands in front of a studio backdrop showing a doorway, and at his feet the base of a headrest is visible behind him. On verso, an elaborate lithographed design in green with the text "DORION & DELORME/ PHOTOGRAPHERS/ D & D/ 140 SPARKS ST./ OTTAWA./ ONTARIO." Someone has drawn through the image with blue pen in a zig-zag.
