Series contains audio recordings of talks given by photographers as part of a series entitled "Photographers Speak", which took place in Rochester NY in 1982. Speakers included: Anthony Barboza, Lillian Bassman, Scott Hyde, Nathan Lyons, Martha Madigan, Nile Root, Henry Holmes Smith, Keith Smith, and John Wood.

Leslie Sparks

Lesley Sparks began working at Kodak as a summer student from 1968-1978, working in every department of Marketing & Sales until she became the first TSR for the Special Products division of Graphics Markets in 1978 until 1984. Lesley came back as a contractor in 1987 working in the Marketing Information Systems department mainly with Consumer Markets and then with Copy Products. Finally, Lesley worked as the School programs Director, working with High School through the Focus on Education Program, organizing exhibitions and events highlighting high school student's photographic work. Records in this series were amassed during Lesley Sparks' time at Kodak, and include documents, promotoinal materials, with a predominance of records on the Focus on Education program.

Stratford theatre programs

Series consists of 77 theatre programs published by the Stratford Shakespearean Festival in the years 1960, 1961, 1963-1967, 1971, 1974, 1976, 1978, 1980, 1986, 1987, 1991, 1993-1997, 2001-2012. The Stratford Festival is a festival that has occured annually from April to November since 1953 in Stratford, Ontario. The festival was originally devoted to producing soley the works of William Shakespeare, but since has expanded to focus primarily on classical repertoire.

Camera accessories series

Series contains various photographic tools for use with a variety of camera models from many manufacturers. Accessories include: plate and film holders, tripods, cable releases, bellows, remote controls, adapters, clamps and various adapters.

Series contains 6 volumes of the School's News Bulletin published by the Information Services Department. Newsletter contains stories about campus events, people, and school business.
The series has been divided into 6 files based on volume.

Ryerson scenes and events photographs

Series consists of photographs created by/for the office of Information Services showing various events, programs, campus, and buildings on campus. Also included are scripts to slide shows the images were used in.

Convocation and Awards Nights records

Records consists of convocation programmes, transcripts of speeches/addresses, photographs, invitations, cassette/reel-to-reel tapes, correspondence and miscellaneous related documentation.

During the 1950s, convocation preparations were arranged by a Convocation Committee. Academic Council assumed responsibility in the 1960s until early 1980s, when the Information Services Department took over.

November 1986 the Department of Community Relations was established, incorporating Information Services, thereby assuming the responsibility of Convocation arrangements until 1995 when University Advancement took over until 2007. In 2008 the Office of Convocation and Awards assumed responsibility.

Unsorted material

Series consists of materials transferred in the Archives holdings in the 1970s and left in piles on shelving units. No original order was apparent. After viewing materials it was discerned that the best course of action was to sort material by subject.

University status for Ryerson Polytechnical Institute files

This file contains documentation relating to the school's efforts at achieving university status. The main documents are "Ryerson's Case for University Status", prepared by the Institute in June, 1991 and the Ontario Council of University Affairs' response (Advisory memorandum 91-VII) entitled "The Developmentof Ryerson Polytechnical Institute". Supporting correspondence and other records originating from the President's Office on this matter can also be found in this file.

Records received from D. Gillies upon retirement in 2003

Series contains records received from D. Gillies upon his retirement and the deactivation of his Ryerson office. Includes correspondence, minutes and appendixes, reports, academic papers, academic planning documents, notes, clippings, etc.

Unsorted material

Series consists of materials transferred in the Archives holdings in the 1970s and left in piles on shelving units. No original order was apparent other than the creator - Donald Gillies. After viewing materials it was discerned that the best course of action was to maintain the material in their original file folders and sort the loose materials accordingly.
Materials include meeting minutes, correspondence, curriculum documents, RFA materials, memos, Principal/President's newsletters, and a large file on Educational Television. There is a lot of cross related materials that came in a later donation in 2003 from Donald Gillies.

Series contains papers, and associated materials, written by Robert Scott for various conferences and symposiums. Also included in some of the files are records related to the conference itself, such as abstracts, correspondence, programmes, and photographs.

Alumni Association Executive Committee and Board of Directors minutes

From 1951 to 1969 the Alumni Association was managed by an Executive Council and committee. In the Fall of 1969 the Association changed direction and established a Board of Directors consisting of the Presidents and Vice-Presidents of all accredited course and regional associations or their delegates. Documents indicate that an Executive Committee still existed within the newly created Board, although now playing a supporting role.

The records in this series consists of the OPSEU Staff Star Award and conference, and the subsequent OPSEU Staff Learning Event which replaced the former in 2014. The university, in developing more wide-ranging awards in 2012, cancelled faculty and staff awards including the OPSEU award and created the OPSEU Staff Learning Event.

RG 149.9.3 Bicentennial, 1984 - includes model in reading room. The scale model was researched and constructed by Architecture students Robert Smith, Richard Zoltek and Ed Nicoluccci under the supervision of the faculty member, Bob Greenberg. The model was a highlight of the Ryerson Archives’ Ontario Bicentennial display held in the Olive Baker Lounge in October, 1984. From 1980 to 1995, the model was on display in the lobby of the 13th floor in Jorgenson Hall. The model was removed to the Archives in January, 1995, while the display case/unit and the ‘landscaping base’ were sent to the School of Architecture. The latter was transferred to the Archives in March, 1996.

Toronto Normal School - Janet Page donation

The Series consists of 1 page of a Provincial Normal School Lesson Topic form and 17 selected and photocopies of pages from Janet Page's original Normal School scrapbook. Mrs. Page (nee Battersby) was a 1940 graduate of the Toronto Normal School.

CCPE & APEO Accreditation

These proposals, courses of study, proposed courses and detailed course outlines were produced for submission to the C.C.P.E. and A.P.E.O. Accreditation Committee for approval. Each outline usually contains the instructor's professional resume, a brief course outline of required readings and topics covered, instructor's notes, laboratory and problem exercises, and test and final examinations.
Included in this series are 22 course outlines and 1 accreditation proposal.

Series contains records relating to awards and special events within the Faculty of Community Services. Included are invitations, posters, and programs for faculty awards nights, Scholarly Research, lectures, open houses, and convocation.

Eaton School of Retailing

Series contains planning records and published materials relating to the creation of the Eaton School of Retailing's partnership with Ryerson.
The Eaton School of Retailing was a corporate entity with the T. Eaton Company Ltd and delivered corporate education within the company. The partnership with Ryerson was away for them to develop and deliver university level courses to Eaton's employees. The first phase of the program was certificates in Retail and Services Management I and II.
