Task Force on Fund Raising

File contains the Task Force on Fund Raising's records. It includes correspondence, brochures, a directory, proposals, reports, and meeting minutes.

Social Event files

File contains records on social events. It includes correspondence, memorandums, a photograph, invitations, schedules, clippings, a guest list, and brochures.

File contains Information Services' department files. It includes correspondence, publications, a directory, clippings, event programmes, and meeting minutes.

File contains the Nursing Department's files. It includes correspondence, listings, publications, brochures, and special certificate course information.

Student Union files

File contains Student Union files. It includes job descriptions, constitutions, correspondence, reports, financial statements, budgets, member listings, agendas, newsletter clippings, and a copy of the student handbook.

"Alcohol and Ryerson - A Review" report

A review of Ryerson's alcohol policies and procedures with draft resolutions for changes. The report followed the coroner's inquest recommendations stemming from the accidental death of a high school student at the ferry docks after attending the Ryerson Picnic at the Toronto Islands.

Ryerson Presidents' photographs

File contains one b&w photograph of Ryerson president Terry Grier and six photographs of Ryerson president Walter Pitman. All photographs are mounted on foamcore.

The Dream That Fagged Out sculpture by Julius Damasdy

This sculptural object was created by Canadian-Hungarian artist, Julius Damasdy and entered into the Ontario Society of Artists show at the Toronto Art Gallery in 1967 and winning the award for best sculpture.

Dr. Franc Joubin, a founding member of Ryerson's newly formed Board of Governors, promised to purchase whichever sculpture won best place in its category.

The sculpture stood in the President's Office and later in the Library where it stood on guard in the 6th floor book stacks. It was finally banished to the Ryerson Archives.

The sculpture has the artist's name on its base, "Damasdy," and is also known as Peter.

Posters

The file consists of posters for Budget Update and Presentation (1996) and Town Hall with Sheldon Levy (2012).

President's celebration notices

File contains invitations extended to the Ryerson community or to faculty and staff to celebrate a noteworthy event. This primarily includes the Annual Holiday Celebration for the whole community.

Principal's Convocation gown

File consists of a purple gown with blue velvet trim and gold embossed trim. Photographic evidence suggests that this gown was worn at convocation ceremonies by Principal/President Fred Jorgenson, President Donald Mordell and President Walter Pitman during the mid to late 1960s until the later 1970s.

Convocation mortarboards

File consists of three blue velvet mortarboards with embossed gold trim and gold tassels. The sizes (7 1/8, 7 1/4, and 7 1/2) suggests that these were worn by Ryerson's presidents over the years.

Invitations

File contains invitations sent out from the President's Office.

Management Committee executive records

File contains the Management Committee's executive records. It includes meeting minutes, correspondence, statements, agendas, proposals, architectural drawings, brochures, reports, institutional costs, projections, and budgets.

President Sheldon Levy Installation dvd

A DVD of the installation ceremony of President Sheldon Levy on November 2, 2005. The original master was produced by the School of Radio and Television Arts. This transfer to DVD was created by the Digital Media Projects Office (John Hajdu). See the accession documentation for further details.

Academic planning (general)

File contains the general academic planning materials. It includes development plans, correspondence, meeting minutes, proposals, project outlines, reports, memorandums, a five year plan, clippings, an address on higher education in Ontario, and "Post-Secondary Education in Ontario: A Statement of Issues".

Physical Plant files

File contains the Physical Plant files. It includes correspondence, memorandums, summaries, proposals, material from the project diary for the master plan for Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, reports, notices, and petitions.

College of Heralds files

File contains the College of Heralds' files. It includes correspondence,"Heraldry", "College of Arms - The Heralds and their Functions", and "Wording on Letters Patent".

Ryerson Systems Institute files

File contains Ryerson Systems Institute files. It includes correspondence, a press release, proposals, "Profit Through Computer Education" seminar materials, meeting minutes, budgets and expenditures, salaries, finances, reports, and course evaluations.

Campus Planning files

File contains campus planning files. It includes correspondence, plans, clippings, recommended policies, briefs, notes, proposals, memorandums, an organization manual, and reports.

Blue and Gold Ball

The Blue and Gold Ball is a student run social event. It was resurrected in 2010 at the initiative of Ryerson President Sheldon Levy.

The file consists of announcements, posters, tickets (2010 only).

University strategic mandate, 2012

File contains 2 copies of Ryerson's strategic mandate. Also included are the general announcment to the Ryerson community, Sheldon Levy's introductory letter, and a copy of the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities discussion paper - which was the reason the mandate was compiled and submitted to the ministry.
